'Hawaii Fvie-0' episode "O ke kumu, o ka mana, ho'opuka 'ia' grabs 6.55 TV ratings overall

HAWAII FIVE-0 (CBS). Friday night's episode was called, "O ke kumu, o ka mana, ho'opuka 'ia." (4/27/2019) that aired at 9/8 p.m. In the overnight TV ratings. It garnered 6.55 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.7 million TV viewers with the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "NFL Draft" (ABC) grabbed 2.58 overall & 0.5 with adults (8-11 p.m.). "The Blacklist" nabbed 3.97 overall & 0.5 with adults.

"O ke kumu, o ka mana, ho'opuka 'ia." Noelani is taken hostage just outside of where she works as a medical examiner. Her mentor Dr. Chu was also taken hostage. The unknown men want them to operate on his dad who is dying. Noelani is not medical surgeon and if that friend dies. They will kill Dr. Chu.

Meanwhile, Adam's childhood friend visits him on her wedding day. Her fiance' didn't show up for the wedding ceremony. It turns out that he is an FBI agent and she is the daughter of a gang leader. That agent goes missing.

'48 Hours' episode 'a Death in Payson Canyon' nabs 3.33 TV ratings overall

48 HOURS (CBS) episode "A Death in Payson Canyon" aired last Saturday night (4/27/2019). It was reported by David Begnaud. In the overnight TV ratings. It garnered 3.33 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.4 million TV viewers according to the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "NHL Hockey" (NBC) grabbed 2.60 overall & 0.8 with adults (8-11 p.m.). "20/20" (ABC) nabbed 2.78 overall & 0.5 with adults (8-11 p.m.).

"A Death in Payson Canyon." Utah 2017. Jchandra Brown's dead body was found inside Payson Canyon. She was hanging from a tree. Police had assumed the young lady committed suicide. There was a note left behind. Her friends claim that Jchandra never told them that she wanted to commit suicide. She was only 16-years-old. A game hunter called 911 emergency and told the operator that a body was found. It was Jchandra. The police claim that Payson Canyon is popular with those individuals who want to commit suicide. Jchandra was not alone the night she died.

'Dateline' episode 'She didn't come home' grabs 4.02 TV ratings overall

The DATELINE (NBC) episode "She didn't come home" aired last Friday night (4/26/2019) at 10/9 p.m. It was reported by Josh Mankiewicz. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 4.02 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.6 million TV viewers according to the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "Blue Bloods" (CBS) grabbed 7.71 overall & 0.7 with adults. "NFL Draft" (ABC) nabbed 2.58 overall & 0.5 with adults (8-11 p.m.).

"She didn't come home." Pennsylvania 1991. Kathy Heckel went to work and during her lunch break. She had disappeared and was never seen again. Her husband John was away on a military assignment. The police discovered that Kathy was having several affairs with married men. He mother claimed that Kathy was acting strange before she disappeared. Her case went cold for 30 years and her dead body was never found. What happened?

48 HOURS on CBS. The nest episode is called, "A Death in Payson Canyon" that will air this Saturday at 10/9 p.m.

CBS says, "A teenager’s death appeared to be a suicide -- but investigators say she was helped by a friend who recorded it and weeks earlier texted “it's like getting away with murder.” CBS News' David Begnaud investigates."

SAG-AFTRA union members sent postcard for 'Commercial Contracts' vote

SAG-AFTRA says, "The National Board unanimously recommends members VOTE YES for the gains negotiated for the landmark 2019 Commercials Contracts."

"All eligible members will be mailed a postcard on April 17, 2019 with instructions and a PIN number on how to vote online or how to request a paper ballot. Ballots – whether submitted online or by mail – must be received by 5 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, May 8, 2019."

'48 Hours' episode 'In Jason's Name' grabs 3.48 TV ratings overall

48 HOURS (CBS) episode "In Jason's Name" aired last Saturday night (4/20/2019). It was reported by Maureen Maher. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.48 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.5 million TV viewers according to the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "NHL Hockey" (NBC) grabbed 1.54 overall & 0.4 with adults (8-11 p.m.). "The Ten Commandments" (ABC) nabbed 4.90 overall & 0.6 with adults (8-11 p.m.).

"In Jason's Name." Jason Corbett had to take care of his two kids after his first wife died from Asthma complications. He married a second time to Molly and they moved to the United States. A 911 emergency call came in from their home by Molly's dad Tom Martens. Jason was beaten to death with a baseball bat and a heavy rock. Tom and Molly bludgeoned him so bad that his skull was ripped open. Both father and daughter had claimed that Jason was trying to choke her to death. Police photos show Molly had no bruises or scrapes on her neck. She and her dad were charged with 2nd degree murder. That wasn't the end of it....

'Dateline' episode '11 Minutes' grabs 4.05 TV ratings overall

The DATELINE (NBC) episode "11 Minutes" aired last Friday night (4/19/2019) at 10/9 p.m. It was reported by Josh Mankiewicz. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 4.05 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.7 million TV viewers according to the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "Blue Bloods" (CBS) grabbed 5.28 overall & 0.4 with adults. "NBA Basketball" (ABC) nabbed 2.74 overall & 0.7 with adults (8:30-11 p.m.).
"11 Minutes." Alabama 2016. Jesse "Madison" Holton was a 17-year-old and a senior in high school. He was rebelling against his parents who tried to give him "tough love." They couldn't control him. His dad Michael returned home one evening to a house filled with alcohol bottles and marijuana bongs. The police were called to the home and Michael was found dead. The mother, April soon died at the hospital. A gun was found on the floor in between both Mike and April. Madison told his neighbor, that his parents, got into a physical altercation. Was it domestic abuse or did Madison kill his parents?

SAG-AFTRA national board approves 'Commercial Contracts' 2019

"At its two-day plenary, SAG-AFTRA’s National Board unanimously approved the 2019 Commercials Contracts tentative agreement reached with the Joint Policy Committee on April 2. The agreement will now be submitted to the membership for ratification."

"The 2019 SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract and the 2019 SAG-AFTRA Audio Commercials Contract are landmark agreements for a new era, introducing innovative and flexible alternative compensation models to promote growth of union-covered commercial work. In addition to the benefits of the new models, SAG-AFTRA members working in commercials also will see across-the-board wage increases for all categories of work, increases to the benefit plans, coverage of stunt coordinators, outsized gains to group dancers, protections against workplace sexual harassment, and a streamlined renegotiation process for commercial agents representing SAG-AFTRA members."

"Said SAG-AFTRA President and Commercials Negotiating Committee Chair Gabrielle Carteris, 'The new Commercials Contracts deliver essential gains to our members while positioning performers and the industry for growth in a rapidly changing environment. We’ve introduced a bold new model that speaks to the needs of a constantly evolving workplace. This is a monumental advance in expanding our jurisdiction. I want to recognize the national negotiating committee and staff for their diligent and inspired work, and I thank the national board for approving this agreement.' ”

"Added SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator David White, 'The members of the Negotiating Committee, all of whom work under these contracts, prepared diligently to negotiate a transformative agreement that represents a real step forward for our members. Highlights of the contracts include:

  • New Upfront Use Packages provide performers with substantial upfront payments, creating simple and flexible structures for employers that positions SAG-AFTRA to cover more work opportunities under the contract.
  • Across-the-board wage increases of 6 percent (applicable to all categories of work, including background).
  • Increased funding to the health and retirement/pension plans estimated at $22.2 million.
  • Protections against sexual harassment.
  • Coverage of stunt coordinators.
  • Outsized gains to group dancers.
  • Streamlined and radically improved renegotiation process for commercial agents representing SAG-AFTRA members.

48 HOURS (CBS) episode "Live to Tell: Vendetta" aired last Saturday night (4/13/2019). It was reported by Jim Axelrod. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.94 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.5 million TV viewers according to the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "NBA Basketball" (NBC) grabbed 3.10 overall & 1.1 with adults (8-11 p.m.). "Nascar" (ABC) nabbed 2.72 overall & 0.4 with adults (8-11 p.m.).

"Live to Tell: Vendetta." Texas. Nov. 6, 2015.  Julie Kocurek is a criminal district court judge. She and her family had pulled into their home drive way. An unknown male dressed in black was carrying a gun who had approached Julie's car. His gun sprayed bullets into the driver side window and Julie was hit several times. She was surprisingly in stable condition when brought to the hospital. The doctor found multiple bullet fragments inside Julie's body. Those actual bullets are especially made to explode on impact and spread across body flesh. Julie had to recall everything before the shooting that was unfamiliar or out of place. She remembered that a male she didn't know was watching her.

'Hawaii Five-0' episode 'He kama na ka pueo' grabs 6.76 TV ratings overall

HAWAII FIVE-0 (CBS). Last night's episode was called, "He kama na ka pueo" (4/12/2019) that aired at 9/8 p.m. In the overnight TV ratings. It garnered 6.76 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.7 million TV viewers with the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "20/20" (ABC) grabbed 3.41 overall & 0.6 with adults (9-11 p.m.). "The Blacklist" nabbed 3.83 overall & 0.5 with adults.

"He kama na ka pueo." A man is bludgeoned on the head in his own home and is knocked unconscious. He wakes up inside the building of a cremation oven. A fire starts and it burns him alive. It will be hard to find out who he was as his ashes provide no identification. A single bone fragment soon reveals him to be a guy named Dale. He was passing himself off as a private investigator. 

Meanwhile, An elderly lady dies and leaves $800,000 to the humane society. She also leaves her collection of porcelain cat figurines to Steve and Danno. Another man inherits the lady's cat named, "pickles." This man is on parole, but lives in a halfway house and cannot care for the cat. Steve and Danno ask the Five-0 team if they want to take care of "pickles." Everyone says "no."

'Dateline' episode 'Evil Intent' nabs 3.29 TV ratings overall

The DATELINE (NBC) episode "Evil Intent" aired last Friday night (4/12/2019) at 10/9 p.m. It was reported by Keith Morrison. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.29 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.6 million TV viewers according to the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "Blue Bloods" (CBS) grabbed 8.01 overall & 0.7 with adults. "20/20" (ABC) nabbed 3.41 overall & 0.6 with adults (9-11 p.m.).

"Evil Intent." Omaha, Nebraska. June 2015. Jessica was found dead inside the bathroom of her home. She was left in the bathtub, but all of her clothes lay at her feet. Police found blood on the couch. The autopsy revealed that she was strangled to death and sexually assaulted. Investigators discovered that Jessica had lived only with her son. She posted a comment on social media that she was alone. It was un-intentional and may have invited her killer into the home.

SAG-AFTRA Direct Deposit 'Residuals' begin on May 1, 2019

Working with respected institutional partners, we have put the infrastructure into place and run pilot programs nationwide to ensure a secure, stable, and high-quality experience that will allow our members to receive residual payments quickly and more easily."

"After successfully testing this process at locals across the country, we are pleased to announce that direct deposit of residual payments will be available to all eligible members nationwide as of May 1, 2019."  

"For members who subscribe to the program, residuals payments received from studios and payroll houses will be distributed electronically at least once a week to the bank account of your choosing, with residuals statements and check stubs viewable online through sagaftra.org."

"Direct deposit of residuals is just the latest in a series of initiatives the union is undertaking to modernize how we serve members and work with our employers, and we are very pleased to be a leader in bringing this landmark process to fruition, reshaping the way the industry operates. 'Hawaii Five-0' episode 'Ke ala o ka pu' grabs 6.72 TV ratings overall

HAWAII FIVE-0 (CBS). Last night's episode was called, "Ke ala o ka pu" (4/5/2019) which aired at 9/8 p.m. In the overnight TV ratings. It garnered 6.72 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.8 million TV viewers with the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "20/20" (ABC) grabbed 3.88 overall & 0.7 with adults. "The Blacklist" nabbed 3.94 overall & 0.6 with adults.

"Ke ala o ka pu." A teen girl under the age of 18 buys an old .38 gun revolver. One of junior's friends was a witness to that girl buying the gun. He tells Steve and Danno about the buy. A male is found dead at a popular beer drinking spot, on the beach. He has a .38 revolver bullet in his chest. "Five-0" believes it might be the teen girl who shot the man. It turns out that the gun goes back to 1983 which led a trail of crime and murder interweaving with the "Five-0" team.

'Dateline' episode 'Evil was watching' nabs 3.56 TV ratings overall

The DATELINE (NBC) episode "Evil was watching" aired last Friday night (4/5/2019) at 10/9 p.m. It was reported by Keith Morrison. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.56 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.6 million TV viewers according to the 18 to 49 adult demographic. "Blue Bloods" (CBS) grabbed 7.85 overall & 0.8 with adults. "20/20" (ABC) nabbed 3.88 overall & 0.7 with adults (9-11 p.m.).

"Evil was watching." Tacoma, Washington 1986. Michella and her sisters went to "Puget" park. She went on as her two younger sisters turned back for their lunch bags. Michella's bike was later found, but she went missing. She was discovered dead with her throat cut who was beaten. The following summer in "Fort Defiance" park. Jenni was another teen blonde who had gone missing. She was found sexually assaulted and strangled to death. Their murder cases went cold for 30 years until new "eyes" looked at the old evidence.

Jackson Family's 'Neverland Firsthand' documentary refutes James Safechuck & Wade Robson

Michael Jackson's family has dropped a 30 minute documentary called, "Neverland Firsthand." It breaks down down several of the lies of James Safechuck & Wade Robson. They both accuse Michael Jackson of sexually molesting them as boys. They were interviewed in a 4-hour HBO documentary called, "Leaving Neverland" which got heavy media attention. The 2-part segment though had received poor TV ratings.

What's interesting about "Neverland Firsthand" are complete facts by those who knew Michael and were present at the Neverland ranch. That is where Wade and James claim they were molested. This side of the story was not shown in "Leaving Neverland" and it should have been. (Check it out below).

ABC 20/20 has been getting huge TV ratings

20/20 on ABC. Within the last month. The new magazine has been airing 2-hour episodes and grabbing mega TV ratings. 

The episode called, "With Friends Like These" is the most compelling and riveting that involves a murder brought on by greed. Sarah had come into a huge amount of cash. Her childhood friends, Preston and Liam decide to rob her of that money. Sarah goes missing when her truck is found abandoned on a local bridge. Her dead body has never been found, but her money and portable safe turns up. This is one of the most chilling episodes coming from 20/20. Check it out.

"SAG-AFTRA and Joint Policy Committee Reach Tentative Agreement on Successor Contracts. SAG-AFTRA and The Joint Policy Committee, LLC (JPC) have reached a tentative agreement on terms for successor television and audio commercials contracts, subject to approval by the SAG-AFTRA National Board later this month."

'48 Hours' Pre-empted by NCAA Basketball Saturday April 6, 2019

48 HOURS on CBS. There will be no episode this Saturday. The network will air the NCAA Basketball Tournament and the "Final Four" from 8-11 p.m. (See you next week).

'Dateline' Summer return on Monday nights at 10/9 pm

DATELINE on NBC. Summer 2019 is coming and the network has scheduled "Dateline" for Monday prime-time at 10/9 p.m. It is still running on Friday nights as well.

Roscoe's top 10 Best 'Murder Mystery' Films from 1980-2009

It took my awhile to choose my favorite Murder/Mystery films between 1980-2009. I had to knock 40 films down to my favorite top 10 choices and build a Blog "page" for all the film trailers. 
I chose 2 Korean films with English Subtitles that are very, very good. "Secret" and "Mother" are both from 2009. Please check them out because they're great.
