(Butler Thomas Barrow)
PBS "Downton Abbey" Season 5, Episode 4. Butler Thomas Barrow is doing drugs & Phyllis thinks he's ill. But, It looks like he's trying to escape from reality where he's the only gay man at Downton. He's angry, a bully & a complete gossip. He also wants to belong, but is ashamed to be a gay man because 1924 society says he should be.
Lady Mary tries to break up with Lord Gillingham, but he won't let go of her. She slept with him to see if she is compatible, but came away not really knowing what she wants. Lady Edith finds out that a German group are going on trial in Munich. They are thugs who attacked Michael who she had a child from. Michael is still missing.
Miss Bunting & her progressive ideas had her banished from Downton by Lord Robert. She pushed too far with her modern ideas by hating traditional ways. She was welcome in the Abbey because Tom used to be like her until he married into the family & had a girl. Lord Robert should have thrown Bunting out on her butt. I thought she was rude & had no respect. After all she sat & ate their food plus drank the wine. She was a guest who ruined the whole dinner.
