This is news coming out of Pendleton, Oregon on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The election committee answered the complaint by Ellen Taylor over the absentee ballots which were returned to tribal members who live off the Reservation. The committee says that Taylor didn't provide any wrong-doing on the committee's part concerning those ballots that were not counted.
6 ballots were returned at the expense of the election committee that were added into the Tribal election for 2015. The Pendleton post office returned ballots of tribal members who live off the reservation. All because the "P.O. Box" belonging to the election committee expired. Some tribal members returned their ballots, others didn't. 142 absentee ballots were counted.
The newly elected tribal candidates will be sworn-in on Dec. 7, 2015. It looks like there will be no more votes counted for Ellen Taylor & the other candidates who lost out in this election.
