The Academy Awards (Oscars) will be handed out on Sunday Feb. 28, 2016 live on ABC television. The western "The Revenant" nabbed 12 Oscar nominations including / Best Picture & Best Director for Alejandro G. Iñárritu / Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio / Best Supporting Actor for Tom Hardy. DiCaprio just came off a win for best actor at the Golden Globe awards where he thanked First Nations Indigenous Peoples in his acceptance speech. (There were several Indigenous actors hired for the film).
