BOSCH on AMAZON. (S02E02). This is based on the best selling novels by Michael Connelly. The FBI is very quiet on their surveillance of porn producer Anthony Allen. He was shot dead on a highway plus thrown into the trunk of his car. Bosch & Jerry find that an FBI task-force planted bugs in Anthony's office. The lead investigator is a jackass & tells Bosch that they were following Anthony for possible terrorism. He won't hand over evidence either & the tension is at an all time high. (This is the first time someone says the line, "need-to-know basis" with conviction, anger & authority. The line is always used as a terrible Cliche' because it is an overused Cliche').
Bosch gets a call from an LA times reporter who writes a blog on Homicides. She wants to know about his mom who was murdered many years ago. It apparently wasn't solved & it interests Bosch a little. The medical examiner shows Harry & Jerry fingerprints from a man & a woman on Anthony's suit jacket. It shows that he might have been picked up & thrown into his car trunk.
The sitting LA mayor named Hector asks Irvin Irving for his police endorsement. They all know Richard O'Shea had already asked him for an endorsement if O'shea becomes mayor. Irvin does pull some strings with the FBI & hands over audio surveillance to Bosch, but that's it. He has to go to Las Vegas where Anthony had an office who picked young stripper girls to bring into the porn industry.
There is a lot going on in this second episode other than what I wrote here. So, check it out because the murder of Bosch's mother is intriguing.
