DATELINE on NBC. Did you watch last night's episode called, "The hometown hero & the homecoming queen?." Dave Traut was shot in the back 6 times by his wife Jane who said it was a prowler outside their home. In my opinion, she did not wrestle away that gun from her husband. All her friends say she was a weak & frightened woman who didn't like violence. Yet, on this particular night she became "Wonder Woman."
Of course she claimed spousal abuse for 30 years. She didn't want to go to prison. She was stupid to leave the gun that killed Dave inside her home. It was premeditated murder. She planned it. And her defense lawyer took it way, way too personal. She didn't bat an eye when she was found guilty.

After watching this episode and listening to his family just irked myself. Because they sounded exactly like an abusers typical protect the abuser family. Throughout the years of domestic violence it has been repeatedly found that ALWAYS ALWAYS AN ABUSER'S FAMILY AND PALS DEFEND THE ABUSER'S ACTIONS. I send Jane my admiration and my support. I have been a victim of DV and the good ole boy system of protecting abusers by their family and friends is just as appauling today as the old law that a man could beat you as long as the stick was not thicker than the husband's thumb. I feel that Dateline could have done a way better job of describing the valid points and statistics like men get off with killing their wives by serving typically only eight years while history has shown the typical patriarchal sentence for a woman killing her husband is double that up until recent years. So I say yay Jane. Maybe her SOB should have kept his mitts to himself!
