MR. SELFRIDGE on PBS. (S04E5). I missed last week's TV recap. Mr. Grove had proposed marriage to Miss Mardle & she accepted. He finally tells Harry about his cancer & upcoming marriage. Harry is devastated among all the other things going on in his life. His gambling agent broke the large window of the Selfridge store because Harry is behind on his debt. He gives Harry a few more days to pay off more than $75,000.
Kitty figured out that Frank slept with a female reporter. She asks him to leave their home. She cannot forgive his infidelity. She loves him, but he broke their marriage after so many years together. Dillon tries to influence Harry to sell some of his stores out of London to pay off his debt. Harry doesn't want to break his family's trust including his son Gordon who managed all the stores out of London.
Harry cuts off all advertisements with a powerful newspaper because they printed his personal gambling debts. He also says goodbye to the Dolly Sisters who frivolously spent his time & money. They decide to go back to New York. Madame Mae is getting ready for her new fashion collection. She rekindles her friendship with Victor. She had a fling with him when he was a working for Mr. Selfridge. (Episode 5 expires May 8, 2016).
