GAP Digital resides in the state of Illinois. That doesn't mean the company will not look elsewhere to find talent for audio-book narration. SAG-AFTRA has put a "no contract-no work" message to union members until GAP Digital becomes a union signatory. They have refused and will pay talent less than union wages.
Press Release, "SAG-AFTRA members are hereby informed that no member may
accept work as an audio-book narrator for GAP Digital until such time as
GAP becomes signatory to a SAG-AFTRA agreement, and that violation of
such order may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the
SAG-AFTRA Constitution."
