'Guild Cinema' at Albuquerque to celebrate Kirk Douglas 100th Birthday

Screen legend, Kirk Douglas (my favorite actor), will approach his 100th birthday this Dec. 9, 2016.

The "Guild Cinema" at Albuquerque, NM will celebrate by showing two of his films directed by Stanley Kubrick. "Spartacus" will run from Dec. 9-11 each night at 6:30 p.m. "Paths of Glory" will run from Dec. 9-11 each evening at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 General Admission / $5 Senior Citizens 60+ / Kids 12 & Under / Students with I.D. / $5 for matinees with first showing.

"Spartacus" (1960) was a huge box office hit that grabbed 4 Academy Awards. "Paths of Glory" (1957) made no money, but became a cult hit and was praised by critics. Kirk Douglas wrote a piece for the online newspaper "Huffington Post" with his 100th year on this earth. He talks about the current political climate compared to the past and everything he has seen. The written piece is called, "The Road Ahead." Something to think about as President-elect Trump becomes the next leader of the United States.
