EDGE OF DARKNESS from BBC TV (1985). The fifth episode of this TV mini-series is called, “Northmoor.”
The CIA had given orders to get into “Northmoor.” Inspector Ronald Craven and a CIA operative, Darius Jedburgh, travel to the nuclear waste facility. No one knows it is a place to trade illegal plutonium. Ronald stole a map of that facility from a computer inside a bus terminal. It turns out that terrorists tried to break into Northmoor, but the facility flooded the lower levels. The terrorists had drowned. Emma and her militant group of environmentalists broke into the facility too. She made it out, but her comrades didn’t. They all died.
Ronald and Jedburgh get to the lower level of Northmoor. They know that the people who run the facility, know they are down there. Jedburgh confesses that the CIA wants him to steal the plutonium.
Ronald finally understands what his daughter Emma had been doing. It brings him deep into the illegal selling of plutonium, the CIA, murder and the money to cover it up. Environmentalists like Emma have been trying to protect the community from nuclear waste. Will Jedburgh and Craven get out of the facility alive?
