According to "The Numbers" that tracks box office receipts. As of August 7, 2017. It has reached $402,336,163 (million) at the world wide box office. It is creeping up to $80 million in the U.S., with $79,965,535 (million).
Hollywood critics bashed the movie after it made less than expectations over its first weekend run. They even said the monster film would lose $95 million. It stars Tom Cruise and it's his biggest opening ever world wide. (Go below for complete box office numbers).
Production Budget: $125-95 (million).
World Wide Total: $402,336,163 (million).
Profit: $207,336,163 (million).
This does not exclude the marketing of the movie and the cut of Tom Cruise. Critics say that the total cost plus marketing reached $345,000,000 (million). If so, it has made $57,336,163 (million). Didgital, BluRay and DVD still has to be counted. Looks like it's making some cash back.
