Stephen King's 'IT' scares up Box Office with a whopping $123 million

Well, critics expected "IT" to make at least $100 million over this last weekend. But, it exceeded all those expectations and broke records for an R-rated Horror Flick. "IT" nabbed an estimated $123 million at North American theaters. It also opened at the Foreign box office and grabbed $62 million.

It certainly was the most anticipated horror movie by film audiences in at least 5 years. When the teaser trailer landed. It became a sensation. Stephen King wrote the novel, "IT" and even he praised the movie.

Horror fans even dressed as clowns to screen the movie which rattled some audiences. (I saw, "IT" and I must say that it stayed real close to the novel. There were some good scares in the theater seats too. I'd liked to see it again.).
