'48 Hours' Did a psychiatrist brainwash her patient to kill?

48 HOURS (CBS) can be seen each Saturday evening at 10/9 p.m. It aired at 9 p.m. (central time) on the Albuquerque TV station KRQE 13. Last night’s episode on Dec. 2, 2017 was called, “The Psychiatrist and the Selfie.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.31 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.5 million TV viewers in the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “SNL Vintage” (NBC) grabbed 2.95 overall & 0.6 with adults. “College Football Championship” (ABC) nabbed 5.55 overall & 1.6 with adults (8-11 p.m.). 

“48 Hours” is a news program that covers crime and murder in the United States. Last night’s episode was reported and narrated by Peter Van Sant. 

“The Psychiatrist and the Selfie.” Manhattan, New York 2012.  Jacob Nolan was convicted in the attempted murder of Dr. Michael Weiss. Jacob tried to bludgeon Michael with a sledge hammer. He was the live-in patient of Dr. Pamela Buchbinder. Jacob claimed that she brain-washed him into killing Michael. She has always stated that she had nothing to with the crime. However, Pamela was captured on camera buying that sledge hammer one day before the attempted killing. Prosecutors have arrested her in 2017 and Jacob will be a witness for the prosecution.
