SAG award screenings report 'Harrassment' by union members

"IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL SAG-AFTRA MEMBERS ATTENDING"

"SAG AWARDS RSVP SCREENINGS & EVENTS"

SAG-AFTRA says, "We have recently received feedback that there have been issues with inappropriate and disrespectful behavior at screenings – both SAG-AFTRA members harassing Nominating Committee members to allow them into line or take them as a guest, as well as professional autograph seekers bombarding panelists after a Q&A."

"Due to these issues, some studios will begin instituting a bag check policy at screenings to ensure that attendees are not bringing in large quantities of memorabilia to sign."

"This kind of behavior jeopardizes our relationship with the studios and networks who host these FYC events and will not be tolerated."

"As a reminder - SAG-AFTRA members invited to attend screenings are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner. Any violation of the rules or transgression of decorum will be subject to review by the Awards Committee, which has authority to remove the member from present and future nominating committees, and to recommend that a member be brought up on disciplinary charges."

"Thank you in advance for your cooperation so that we can continue to offer screening opportunities to the SAG-AFTRA membership."
