2002 '48 Hours' episode 'Millionaire Boys Club' continues with "Appeal' of Justin Wolfe

2001. Justin Wolfe (19 yrs) was a marijuana dealer who in high school had amassed $100,000. Danny Petrole (21 yrs.) was Justin's rival dealer in the state of Virginia. He was shot and killed in the back of his car. Justin owed Danny a $70,000 debt. His friend Owen Barber had owed Justin $3,000 in debt. Prosecutors claim that Justin had ordered Owen to kill Danny which Justin has denied. Owen testified in court against Justin who got 38 years in prison for his cooperation. Justin was convicted and sentenced to death.

2011. A judge ordered a new trial for Justin claiming that prosecutors with-held evidence at trial. Owen was behind prison bars and recanted his testimony, saying Justin never ordered him to kill Petrole. He then recanted again when Justin's new trial began in 2012. Prosecutors added 6 more indictments against Justin who wrote a letter admitting he ordered Owen to kill Pertole. Justin was sentenced 29 to 41 years in prison. He has served 17 years already.

2019. A supreme court judge has over-ruled an "appeals" court in Virginia saying that Justin's new "appeal" can be heard in a court of law. Justin claims that he was coerced by prosecutors into writing that letter of confession.

48 HOURS on CBS. The episode was called, "Millionaire Boys Club" and it was reported by Peter Van Sant. That particular segment is not repeating, nor airing online. It played on "48 Hours-Investigation Discovery" but it is no longer. What is interesting is the amount of high grade marijuana that was bought and sold among high school kids. Justin Wolfe ran a high priced operation and he is still paying for it.
