VERA (ITV) Season 09 and Episode 01. The episode is called, "Blind Spot." In the overnight TV ratings. It garnered a whopping 8.63 million TV viewers overall. The regular TV season has 4 episodes that run at 1 hour and 30 minutes each.
"Blind Spot." Vera Stanhope (Brenda Blethyn) and her homicide team are called to one of the largest landfill's in the area. The dead body of a brunette is found stabbed to death multiple times. They find out that her name is Joann who is a criminal forensic psychologist. She had a lesbian girlfriend and her parents are divorcing. The landfill workers are on strike and there is a secret dirt road leading up to that fill.
The night before Joann's body was found. She was walking along the highway and was supposedly picked up by someone. Vera is told she was killed and later dumped in that landfill.
