MAC-GYVER on CBS (2016). The TV reboot of the classic "MacGyver" (1985-92) has been cancelled by the network. Fans are upset because the show has found an audience.
The original TV show runner was replaced after the 4th season because of a toxic environment on-set.
During the 5th season. "MacGyver" averaged a 0.52 adult rating (18 to 49 demo) & 7.80 overall.
The season finale will air on Friday April 30, 2021.
"MacGyver" from the 1980's and early 1990's has a cult following to this day 2021. It starred Richard Dean Anderson and aired on ABC (Sunday & Mondays).
The TV ratings remained steady for 6 TV seasons (14.6 ---- 11.5). It was taken off of the schedule for half of the 7th season. (9.6 rating).
Two TV movies came back in 1994 and was very popular around the world.
