PBS Ken Burns 'Ernest Hemingway' premiere's April 5, 2021

ERNEST HEMINGWAY on PBS. A film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. The 3-part series will begin April 5, 2021. 

PBS, "Examines the visionary work and the turbulent life of Ernest Hemingway, one of the greatest and most influential writers America has ever produced. Interweaving his eventful biography — a life lived at the ultimately treacherous nexus of art, fame, and celebrity — with carefully selected excerpts from his iconic short stories, novels, and non-fiction, the series reveals the brilliant, ambitious, charismatic, and complicated man behind the myth, and the art he created."

19 of his novels and short stories were adapted into movies. The most popular were during the 1940's and 1950's when the author was still alive. He committed suicide in 1961. 

Movie Star - Ava Gardner starred in most of his works, "The Killers" (1946), "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" (1952) and "The Sun Also Rises" (1957). She and Hemingway were good friends. He claimed that Ava skinny-dipped in his swimming pool. He never drained it after that.

Another Movie Star - Lauren Bacall was a good friend of his too. She starred in his, "To Have and Have Not" (1944.).
