Millions of TV viewers watched Will Smith walk on stage and physically "slap" Chris Rock across the face. Many thought it was a staged comedy sketch, but it wasn't. It was real. Chris made a "lame" joke aimed at Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
By Monday afternoon. Will Smith posted an apology on his "Instagram" account to Chris Rock.
The Academy is looking into the altercation along with the SAG-AFTRA union. Both organizations disagree with "physical violence."
