Olivia Newton-John 'Grease' and 'Physical' singer dies at 73

Olivia Newton-John was a 4-time music "Grammy" winner whose pop single, "Physical" (1981) stayed at number #1 for 10 weeks. It would become her signature song among several from the 1970's and 1980's. Below are Olivia's impressive music stats....

  • Studio albums                 26
  • Live albums                       6
  • Compilation albums         14
  • Singles                             70
  • Soundtrack albums            6
Olivia appeared in the movie-musical "Grease" (1978) as the innocent Sandy who transforms into a hot leather chick at the end. The movie was the number #1 film of that year ($366 million). She will forever be remembered as Sandy.... RIP.

Below is the music video for the hit song, "You're The One That I Want."

Below is Olivia singing her number #1 song, "Physical" (1981) on TV's "Solid Gold." This was long before the Internet and during the birth of Cable-TV. The song stayed in the public conscience for a full year. It spawned a music video that caused controversy with sexual-innuendo with straight and gay men who danced with Olivia. Several radio stations banned the song too because of "Sex." It was revolutionary for the coming decade of the 1980's in pop culture.
