Classic Movie Flashback 'Bull Durham' 1988 with Kevin Costner

BULL DURHAM distributed by ORION pictures (1988). It starred Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandan and Tim Robbins. The production budget climbed to $9 million and grossed $50 million at the box office. The movie ticket price was $4.11 for 1988.

The story surrounds a female fan Annie (Susan Sarandan) who hooks up with a Minor League Baseball Player each season. She picks the talented rookie pitcher Nuke (Tim Robbins). But.... She is attracted to and falls for the experienced baseball catcher Crash (Kevin Costner). The comedy ensues.

I don't recall how many times I saw this movie in theaters back then. It has become my favorite baseball film of all time. It had more to do with the relationships behind-the-scenes of minor league baseball. The female groupies, the players, coaches and fans. Plus, the idea of heading into professional baseball. I was so young back then and Kevin Costner's character "Crash" taught me a lot about women.

It was released on VHS home video and the rental sales went through the roof. I actually bought a VHS copy that cost $39.99. (Hahahaha.!!). It is now on BluRay and talk about nostalgia. I miss the year 1988. Good times.

Below is the MGM trailer of "Bull Durham" 1988.
