Classic Movie Flashback 'Working Girl' 1988 with Melanie Griffith, Harrison Ford & Sigourney Weaver

WORKING GIRL from 20TH CENTURY FOX (1988). It was directed by Mike Nichols. The production budget climbed to $28 million and grossed $103 million at the box office.

This was a throwback to the Hollywood romantic comedies of the 1930's & 40's. "Working Girl" is that rare film about an ambitious young woman trying to get ahead in a man's world. (Circa 1988).

The story surrounds Tess (Melanie Griffith) who wants to get ahead in the corporate world of Manhattan, New York. She gets kicked around even though she feels qualified after business "night" classes. She quits a firm and becomes an administrative assistant to a female executive Katherine (Sigourney Weaver). Tess has bright ideas and offers one to her boss who says she'll look into it.

Without Tess knowing it. Katherine secretly passes the idea off as her own. Then, she breaks her leg in a skiing accident. She asks Tess to house-sit who soon discovers she was lied to. So, she decides to take on Katherine's "identity" to sell her idea. Then.... Tess meets Jack (Harrison Ford).... Let the romantic comedy ensue.

If you can get past the big "hair" of the 1980's. You will have a great time. It wasn't just the women either. Men had big hair plus those "mullets." They are toned down in this film. To concentrate on the actresses. (Hahahaha.!!).

Check out "Working Girl" on BluRay. You won't be disappointed.
