"Cold River." Vera Stanhope (Brenda Blethyn) and her homicide team are called out to a boating dock in the city. The night before. A woman had been found dead in the river during a party on a boat. She was brought on board who was beaten and strangled to death. Her sister believes that the boyfriend was abusing her. The victim's apartment looked like there was a struggle with furniture over turned. The expensive security alarm didn't go off, but there were no signs of a break in.
The victim had entered the boat party and by midnight she was dead underneath that boat. The woman who threw the party had thought everyone was checked before boarding....
