ELEMENTARY on CBS. S05E01. Sherlock and Watson return for a 5th TV season 2016-17. The TV crime show was moved from Thursday to Sunday last Spring. It made room for a new CBS remake, "Rush Hour" which was eventually cancelled after one season. Fans of "Elementary" begrudgingly followed the show to Sundays at 10/9 p.m. That is where it will remain. The TV ratings held steady and actually did better than "Rush Hour."

'Longmire' gets back to murder & mystery where Walt shines

LONGMIRE on NET-FLIX. S05E03. The modern western can be seen streaming online at “Netflix.” The third episode is called, “Chrysalis.” There are no TV ratings to report.

That girls' mom is addicted to painkillers who covers up a secret. Walt is trying to contact Donna, but she's ignoring him after she was kidnapped. Vic confronts Donna because Walt was also affected by the kidnapping. In-fact, he was shot by the kidnapper.

Jacob Nighthorse gave $750,000 to Cady Longmire to begin a legal office on the Reservation. Tribal members question why that money was easily given to a white woman and not to natives in need. Henry finds Cady an old house on the Reservation to open her office. Walt investigates the disappearance of the father who might have gone into the casino. He unconsciously uncovers that Malachi might be using the casino for criminal activities. He's also head of security. Jacob asks Henry to investigate Malachi who owns the "red pony" bar. Has criminal activity spread from the bar to the casino?

(I am a big fan of actress, Ally Walker, and was glad she joined the cast last TV season. She and Walt have great chemistry. Also, Walt is at his best as an investigator of murder. He's written that way in the novels written by Craig Johnson).

Western 'Jane Got a Gun' wraps love story with absolute revenge

I will be reviewing Western movies because I'm a big fan. I do post my favorite Western movie trailers each month in the right column of this Blog. I will not review movies that portray Native Americans as laughable stereotypes.

JANE GOT A GUN from LIONS-GATE. A gang headed by John Bishop (Ewan McGregor) is searching for Bill Hammond (Noah Emmerich). He has been fatally shot before returning home to his wife Jane (Natalie Portman). She hires her ex-boyfriend Dan Frost (Joel Edgerton) to help fight Bishop's gang while Bill is laid up in bed.

Dan and Jane were lovers before the War and desperate circumstances tear them apart. He returns to find that she has married Bill and they have a daughter. Dan and Jane's relationship is told in flashback against the backdrop of New Mexico 1866. The truth comes out as they barricade Bill's home. It eases the pain of their break-up. Jane and Dan still love each other as Bishop's gang descends upon the homestead. It turns out that there are posters of "Wanted: Dead or Alive" seeking Bill Hammond and the Bishop's gang.

The problems that plagued this production is well documented. The original director quit on the first day of filming. The male cast, changed lead roles, numerous times and the movie's scheduled release was pushed forward just as many times from 2014 to 2016. The parent distributor "Relativity" almost went bankrupt and froze film release dates. "Jane" also had a screenplay that was rewritten after production was shut down in New Mexico. Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton save the film because of their chemistry. The last 30 minutes is action packed. I bought this on BluRay and it's worth it.

2016 remake 'The Magnificent Seven' with Denzel Washington opens Friday Sept. 23

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. This is the second remake after the 1960 classic western that starred Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen. That film was a retelling of the 1954 movie, "The Seven Samurai." This time around, Denzel Washington stars with Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawk. It is receiving good reviews from critics and it opens in U.S., theaters this Friday Sept. 23, 2016. (Go below for 1960 classic trailer and the recent 2016 trailer).

CBS 'The Case of JonBenet Ramsey' debunks a lot of theories connected to murder

The Case of JonBenet Ramsey” was seen Monday evening at 9/8 p.m. It aired at 8 p.m. (central time) in Albuquerque, NM on KRQE 13. Last night's episode on Sept. 19, 2016 was part two-of-a-two-part-limited series. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 8.24 million TV viewers overall. It reached 1.8 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic (9-11 p.m.). “Dancing with the stars" (ABC) grabbed 10.71 overall & 1.7 with adults (8-10 p.m.). “The Voice" (NBC) nabbed 12.10 overall & 3.3 with adults (8-10 p.m.).

The CBS limited TV series aired on the upcoming 20th anniversary of JonBenet Ramsey's murder (Dec. 26, 1996).

“The Case of: JonBenet Ramsey.” Part Two. John and Patsy Ramsey claim an intruder broke into their home. The window in the basement was broken, but an old spider web was still intact on Dec. 26, 2016. An intruder would've broken that web crawling through the tiny window. JonBenet was not sexually assaulted according to autopsy. A stun-gun was used on a male volunteer and it didn't subdue him. It energized him with adrenaline. A stun-gun would've frightened little JonBenet.

DNA cleared the Ramsey parents, but an unknown male DNA was found on JonBenet's panties. There was also no DNA found of the older brother Burke. JonBenet's skull was crushed by a blunt object. The flashlight in the crime scene had no finger prints on it, nor on the batteries. Unknown male DNA was found on the garrote that was near JonBenet's body. Was there an intruder? Or was it an inside job?

Last night's episode on Sept. 18, 2016 was part-one-of-a-two-part-limited series. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 10.29 million TV viewers overall. It reached 2.1 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic. The CBS limited TV series airs before the upcoming 20th anniversary of JonBenet Ramsey's murder (Dec. 26, 1996).

The Case of: JonBenet Ramsey.” Part One. An FBI pro-filer plus a Behavioral Analyst began with the Patsy Ramsey 911 emergency phone call at 5 a.m. She tells the operator that a ransom note was found and her daughter JonBenet was missing. Investigators breakdown that phone call because Patsy didn't actually hang up. It was still recording. Voices are heard and they were later computer enhanced. A man says, “we're not speaking to you” and it is believed to be the father, John. Patsy is heard saying, “Holy Jesus” and faintly, “What did you do?” A third voice is heard saying, “What did you find?.” Is that voice coming from the older brother, Burke, who was said to be asleep? That phone call grew into a controversy on whether the 911 call was rehearsed by the Ramsey parents.

The 911 operator was never talked to by original investigators. Never..., She was not called to the grand jury as a witness either. The Ramsey's were never indicted in the murder of their daughter. The operator claims that no one interviewed her until now in 2016.

'48 Hours' Man died from high levels of dentist medicine

CBS changed their Schedule last Saturday night at 10/9 p.m. They aired "Death and the Dentist" which I never saw. It was a repeat episode.

"48 Hours" (CBS) can be seen each Saturday evening at 10/9 p.m. It aired at 9 p.m. (central time) in Albuquerque, NM on KRQE 13. Last night's episode on Sept. 17, 2016 was called, "Death and the Dentist." In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 4.33 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.8 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic (repeat). “Saturday night college football" (ABC) grabbed 2.19 overall & 0.6 with adults (8-11 p.m.). “College Football" (NBC) nabbed 4.80 overall & 1.4 with adults (8-11 p.m.).

"48 Hours" is an investigative program that covers crime & murder in the United States. Last night's episode was reported and narrated by Richard Schlesinger.

Death and the Dentist.” Tom Kolman was found dead inside his car in a “planet fitness” parking lot. Police discovered security surveillance of a white SUV that was parked next to Tom's car. His wife Linda had found him slumped over in the driver seat. A dentist medicine was detected inside Tom's body. The high levels of that medicine poisoned him into death. His wife was having an affair with Gilberto Nunez who was Tom's best friend. Gilberto was also a dentist.

'48 Hours' 2 back-to-back episodes Saturday Sept. 17, 2016

48 HOURS on CBS. The second episode airs Saturday at 10/9 p.m. It is called, "What Happened in Apt. 1601?." This is a repeat episode and all I can say is, people never remember when murder is involved. The girlfriend in that apartment recalls nothing so she can be free to walk the streets.

CBS says, "Three friends walk into a studio apartment, and only two come out alive. At least one of them is a killer, but which one? "48 Hours" correspondent Richard Schlesinger investigates."

'48 Hours' 2 back-to-back episodes Saturday Sept. 17, 2016

48 HOURS on CBS. The first episode begins Saturday at 9/8 p.m. It is called, "A Mother Accused." This is a repeat episode and it will make you angry at the accused mother. I watched in disbelief on how she reacted while being interviewed. She is a grown woman who argues like a 14-year-old teen. In my opinion, she poisoned her child for attention and it led to his death.

CBS says, "In her only interview, a mother convicted of murder by poisoning her son with salt claims it was the hospital's mistake. Is she right? "48 Hours" correspondent Troy Roberts investigates."
