RAY PARKER JR..., has been a musician and singer for decades. He is most remembered for writing and singing the song, "Who you gonna call?" from the 1984 film "Ghostbusters." It was a massive hit around the world along with the movie of the same name.
The documentary chronicles Parker's life in music and it is aptly titled, "Who you gonna call?" Sony Pictures TV has grabbed the rights to the documentary. Check it out....
AVA from VERTICAL ENTERTAINMENT. The action thriller stars Jessica Chastain and it was developed for her by Matthew Newton. He wrote the screenplay and was directing the project. That is until he dropped out as director after backlash over domestic abuse. This charge had him pleading guilty.
AVA opened in 200 U.S movie theaters on Sept. 25, 2020. It nabbed $170,000. At the International box office. It has already grabbed $2 million after opening in late summer.
The Corona-Virus outbreak has crippled the movie industry and closed U.S theaters for months. So, movies are heading to Video-On-Demand and cleaning up. AVA charges viewers only $6.99 and has climbed to the top #3 across several online platforms, (Fandango Now - Apple TV - Google Play - Vudu).

The medical examiner found six puncture wounds on her back. The corn rake had only 4 steel points. Who killed Amy?

"Left for Dead." Fort Collins, Colorado 2013. A 911 emergency call came near a local park. A rookie policeman was dispatched. A woman was screaming in agony and pain. She was found naked and bound up with red duct-tape. She was also strangled and left for dead. Her name was Amber Smith.
Amber was beaten so bad that she was unrecognizable. She remembers that she was at a different park the night before. And, that she was with a male friend drinking alcohol. She had passed out and he left her on that park bench....

The 1947 technicolor film (Black Narcissus) was adapted from the same novel. It starred Deborah Kerr who won "best actress" with the New York Film Critics. The movie also won 2 Oscars for best Cinematography and Art Direction.

"Manhunt: Deadly Games" (CBS) nabbed 1.57 overall & 0.3 with adults.
"Trouble at the 7-11 Ranch." Colorado 2015. Jake Millison disappeared one day and for two years he remained missing. He was to inherit a sprawling ranch worth a lot of money. His sister Stephanie and her husband David returned to that ranch. They decided to help out Stephanie's ailing mother.
None of Jake's family seemed to care about him. They thought he just left the state and never to return. Jake's close friends though had called a local reporter and news reached a lawyer. An investigation began into Jake's disappearance.
THE BIG VALLEY on ABC (1965-69). The TV western ran 100 episodes and premiered 55 years ago. It is still popular in 2020 because of the Internet on YouTube. Plus, it runs on cable TV western channels. (It is my favorite TV western).
The Facebook Page called, "Barbara Stanwyck: The Queen" interviews Linda Evans who portrayed Audra Barkley who is the daughter of Victoria Barkley played by Barbara Stanwyck.
Linda talks about the TV western, the cast and crew. She had a real life mother-daughter relationship with Stanwyck.

MULAN from DISNEY. The Live-Action movie is getting out of the gate pretty slow. According to "Box Office Mojo" that tracks box office receipts. It has reached $57 million at Foreign markets around the world. There is no final word on when it will open in North America..., if at all.
(The Corona-Virus pandemic halted the release in the U.S.).
According to reports from the online newspaper - Screen-Rant. "Disney-plus" online had nabbed $35 million on the weekend of Sept. 4, 2020. Customers can download the movie for a one time fee of $30. They can keep the movie in their library for repeat viewings. Disney gets to keep the money too because there is no distribution fees. The complete numbers are still not in 17 days after premiering online. "Disney-plus" could bring in a lot more.
As of Sept. 21, 2020. MULAN has grabbed $92 million on a $200 million production budget.

Both of them had taken party drugs and Cayley would soon stop breathing. He drove her to the hospital where doctors couldn't revive her. She died at the hospital.
An autopsy revealed that Cayley died from blunt force trauma to the head and face. What happened? Why was she beaten up at a concert when Mark was right there?

"Secrets from the grave." Akron, Ohio 2009. The Purk family was sound asleep and a bomb exploded. A fire had begun and the family got out to safety. Scott Purk had told the police that his wife was with another man on this night. They were sex "swingers." Scott wouldn't stop talking and suspicion fell on him as an arsonist. His home was deliberately set on fire.
It is revealed that Scott's former wife Meg had committed suicide back in 1985. Meg's body was exhumed for an autopsy report. Did she commit suicide? Or was she murdered?

The images of cities awash in an orange glow and the West Coast under a haze of smoke are alarming.
As you read this, there are more than 100 active wildfires throughout the West, and the National Interagency Fire Center is reporting 4.5 million acres of land have burned across 12 states. Many have evacuated their homes, others are reported missing and some have lost their lives. Our gratitude goes out to the nearly 28,000 firefighters and first responders on the front lines.

AIRPLANE from PARAMOUNT PICTURES. It is the first and the funniest spoof-movie ever made. It came out way back in 1980 and in it's first five days. The comedy recouped its' production budget of $3.5 million. It went on-to make a worldwide total of $158 million at 1980 ticket prices. It had also made veteran character-actor, Leslie Nielsen, a top film comedian.
There are so many spoof-films these days that they just don't measure up to the very first. "The Guardian" ranks it as the best spoof comedy film ever-made. Go here for their article....

"And then there were three." Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Dec. 19, 1979). Michelle Martinko was a beautiful 18-year-old blonde who was a senior in high school. Her family gave her the nickname of "Farrah" after Farrah Fawcett from the hit TV show, "Charlie's Angels." Michelle always had that Farrah hair-do. She had gone to the local mall to buy a winter coat. Michelle never returned home.
Her dead body was found inside of a car in the mall parking lot. She was stabbed to death and there was blood everywhere. The killer left behind DNA that would be tested more than 30 years later. Investigators found a DNA match.

PRINCESS MONONOKE (1999) from MIRAMAX. This critically acclaimed animated film has been re-released several times. It will again roll out in the US on Sept. 27, 2020. (I love this movie.!).
According to "Box Office Mojo" that tracks box office receipts. "Princess" grabbed a total of $169,785,629 (million) world-wide. It only hit $4,845,631 (million) in the US.
Studio Ghibli Fest 2020. The movie opened in Japan on June 26th of this year. It reached $7,673,132 (million).
MULAN from DISNEY. The live-action film is based on the popular 1998 animated film. It has been pushed forward several times because of the Corona-Virus outbreak. Disney decided to open the film internationally, but streaming online at "Disney+" in America.
The movie opened in China to a mere $23 million and has climbed to $37 million at the Foreign market. Yahoo Finance reports that the "Disney+" phone app got a spike in downloads by 68% when "Mulan" began to stream Sept. 4, 2020. You can buy the film for $29.99 and keep the film in your library for repeat viewings.
TENET from WARNER BROS. Here in the state of New Mexico. Movie theaters are still closed because of COVID-19. The film garners $29,500,000 in the U.S. It grabbed $177,500,000 in Foreign markets. It has nabbed $207,000,000 world-wide.
The film is getting mixed reviews. The fans of Christopher Nolan are still walking into movie theaters.

They both had a bitter rivalry after each had built their own "Tiger" zoo's. It got so bad between them that Joe was sent to prison for planning-to-murder-Carole.
During this hate filled rivalry. A mystery appeared surrounding Carole's second husband Don Lewis. He was a millionaire who disappeared mysteriously. It is believed that Carole murdered her husband for his money. All so that she can continue her exploitation of "Tigers." There is no proof that she killed her husband and there is no dead body.

KNOTS LANDING on CBS (1979-1993). During the decade of the 1980's. There were only 4 major TV networks. CBS-ABC-NBC-FOX. Prime-time soap operas were huge TV ratings back then.... "Knots Landing" was a spin-off of "Dallas" both on CBS. "Knots" aired every Thursday night for 14 TV seasons. During the 1984 TV season. It had ranked at number #9 and that was the only time it would grab the top #10. It would also become a favorite Thursday night TV series.
Kevin Dobson joined the cast in 1982 and stayed until the end of the run in 1993. His Mac Mackenzie had married Karen and they were a favorite couple on prime-time television. Mac would be Kevin's most popular acting role. He starred in TV's "Kojak" and the day-time soap, "Days of our Lives." Kevin passed away at age 77. RIP....

MULAN from DISNEY. The long awaited Live-Action film will finally bow online. The reason is because of the Corona-Virus outbreak. It had closed all movie theaters for months and Disney kept pushing the movie forward. It finally landed on "Disney-Plus" online. You have to sign-up with $29.99 to watch the film.
There has been so much talk. Even too much talk about moving from the original animated version to Live-Action. A lot will be left out going into the Live-Action. To my personal surprise. Disney cut out the character of Li Shang who falls in love with Mulan in the animated version 1998.
The reason is because Shang may have been bi-sexual because Mulan pretended to be a boy and then reveals herself as a girl. He was attracted to the boy first. I don't believe that at all and I never saw it that way. That's not saying it would never happen because it can. I think Disney should let the audience decide for themselves.
