CBS This Morning 'Making a Murderer Part 2' filmmakers interview

MAKING A MURDERER 2 on NETFLIX. The TV reviews are in, but I think everyone should watch and come to their own conclusions. That's what I'm gonna do because I honestly believe these two men are innocent. It is interesting that the prosecuting lawyer didn't want to be interviewed for both of these documentaries. That in itself says a lot about him and his case. I hope the filmmakers give us an update on the whole police department who all left town when Steven Avery was found guilty in 2007. It was clear that they were-out-to-get-him in the first documentary.

The 10-part series is now streaming online over at "Netflix."

2018 'Searching' is suspenseful, mystery for the modern Internet age

SEARCHING from STAGE 6 FILMS. According to "The Numbers" that tracks box office receipts. It has garnered $25,803,714 (million) in the United States. It grabbed $39,217,967 (million) at the Foreign box office. The worldwide total tops $65,021,681 (million) by Oct. 1, 2018.

I walked into a movie theater and finally watched this. All I can say is - Wow!

The filmmakers approached this through the eyes of a computer screen. We see everything with "social media" that looks into the lives of an Asian family living in California. David Kim searches for his daughter Margot who disappears after a study group meeting. He is forced to search her social media and it isn't pretty. What unravels is the "dark web" that may have sucked her into something she cannot control.

I was literally on the edge of my seat. The twists and turns in this mystery were incredible. It keeps you guessing until the very end. Check it out if you can.

'The Pink Skirt Murder' from 'Dateline' 2008 comes to a conclusion 2018

DATELINE on NBC. The episode was reported by Sarah James and it was called, "The Pink Skirt Murder." It covered the stabbing and bludgeoned murder of Adam Anhang (32 yrs). It happened in old "San Juan" at Puerto Rico (2005). Adam had managed a small restaurant called, "The Pink Skirt" that he had bought for his wife Aurea Vasquez (23 yrs). She and Adam had walked out of another restaurant called, "The Dragonfly" when both of them were attacked on the street. She suffered minor injuries and was brought to the hospital. He was stabbed multiple times and his skull was crushed by a heavy object.

(NBC logo 2008. Click for 2014 news report. Dateline is no longer running their episode on this case.).

Adam's father Abe Anhang traveled to Puerto Rico to investigate the murder of his only son. He protected Adam's multi-million dollar estate when Aurea tried to make a claim after Adam's death. She went to court, but Abe froze all of Adam's assets. He asked for Aurea to give up information on who wanted Adam dead. Rumors on the street said that she had something to do with it. She refused and fled the country. Jonathan Román-Rivera was charged with Adam's murder and he was sentenced to 105 years in prison.

(NBC photo. Aurea and Adam in happier times).

Aurea ended up in Italy (2008) who gave birth to twins with an Italian man. She couldn't out-run her past though when a news reporter wrote an expose' on her. She was labeled the "black widow." The United States indicted Aurea and charged her in the murder-for-hire of Adam. Alex Pabon-Colon was soon arrested with killing Adam and Jonathon Rivera was released from prison. Aurea had promised Alex $3 million to kill her husband, but he never got any money. Two other people were involved in the attack. Alex pleaded guilty (2008). Aurea was lured to Spain and was arrested (2013). Italy doesn't extradite suspects who face the death penalty. Spain does and extradited her back to Puerto Rico where she stood trial (2018).

Aurea and all of her co-conspirators were found guilty on all accounts. Puerto Rico gives the death penalty and life in prison with murder-for-hire plots.

'Whitney' documentary doesn't tell full story about Houston as a mother

WHITNEY from MIRAMAX FILMS 2018. According to "The Numbers" that tracks box office receipts. The new documentary on the late singer, Whitney Houston, has garnered $4,659,743 million at the world wide box office.

The documentary was quite revealing about Whitney from her birth as a professional singer (1985) until her death (2012). It had focused a lot on her drug problems though. The filmmakers got nothing from Bobby Brown who simply shut-up about it. So, the audience had to rely on Whitney's professional entourage and her two brothers. It was shocking when one of them had claimed that Bobby couldn't "handle" the heavy drug abuse like he could. It sounded like he was a "better" abuser than Bobby could-ever-be. Sadly, both of the brothers who went on tour with Whitney are showing wear-and-tear. Their own drug and alcohol problems had aged them beyond their years. It is apparent in their unsteady mannerisms and the way they speak.

The filmmakers couldn't pin-point when exactly Whitney's drug abuse took over. Record company executives say they didn't know anything about it. Some of her personal entourage stayed quiet too because of the money they continued to receive. What is very clear is that Whitney's father had ripped her off in the millions ($$). She fired him and he sued her for $100 million. It was right after she had signed the music contract worth that same amount.

Dee Dee Warwick was Whitney's cousin who is accused of sexually molesting both her and brother Gary. He admits to this. Whitney's former assistant Mary Jones claims that Whitney had told her about the molestation. It was not revealed to filmmakers until the end of production. They had to re-edit and didn't delve into it thoroughly. Whitney's mother Cissy Houston and cousin Dionne Warwick were shocked to hear of these claims who deny them completely. Dee Dee passed away in 2008 who is not here to answer to these allegations. One question lingers about these claims. Why did they wait until both Whitney and Dee Dee had passed on?

We get to hear what Whitney's entourage and friends say about her as a mother. What we don't see is how Whitney thought and felt as a mother toward Bobbi Kristina. She does in countless news reports and interviews over the years. We see none of that in this film. They concentrated more on the drug use and Whitney's downfall.

'Dr. Death' will become TV series after riveting podcast

DR. DEATH had premiered on Sept. 4, 2018 on the "Wonderly" Podcast with 6 episode segments. It is the same company that produced "Dirty John" that will become a Bravo TV series. Universal cable productions has picked up DR. DEATH  for TV series.

I listened to the podcast in absolute shock. The healthcare system never went after Dr. Christopher Duntsch. He had maimed 33 of his patients at Dallas, Texas. Two of his patients died as well. He is a socio-path who claimed to be an expert neurosurgeon. His medical license was finally taken away after a one year-and-half investigation. No one reported him to the United States Department of Health and Human services. None of his patients could win a malpractice lawsuit against him either. He was let go from hospitals only to be hired at another because he was a certified neurosurgeon.

The criminal courts finally charged him with five counts of assault and one count of injury to an elderly person. The big question I have is, "Did Christopher Duntsch commit attempted murder on one of his patients?"

I listen to the "Stitcher" podcast website. Click here for all episodes of "Dr. Death."
