1976 THE OMEN is a scary Halloween movie to watch
THE OMEN from 20TH CENTURY FOX (1976). The production budget cost $2.8 million and the studio devised a marketing campaign which matched that budget. It was a box office smash earning $60 million in the United States. The Foreign box office climbed to $46 million with a worldwide total of $96 million.
It tells the story of Robert and Katherine Thorn who were having a baby. Their child died right after birth. The hospital father (chaplain) told Robert that a different mother died in child-birth too. A baby boy needs parents and Robert is persuaded to replace the "dead" baby with the "live" one. Robert never tells Katherine that he switched those babies. The boy is named Damien Thorn....
Five years later - The innocent looking Damien appears to be an unfounded evil force. Mysterious deaths are connected to him who is soon labeled the "Anti-Christ." Watch to the end of the story and decide whether Damien is who he appears to be.
The movie spawned 3 sequel films and a 2006 remake. You can't beat the original "Damien" though. Check it out this Halloween 2022.

WAS SHE A FRAUD: Sacheen Littlefeather (Maria Cruz) may not have been Native American
Sacheen Littlefeather aka Maria Cruz died from cancer (10-2-2022). She refused Marlon Brando's Best Actor Oscar (The Godfather) in 1973. The reason is because Brando protested Hollywood's treatment of American Indians on film. It had caused an uproar because the Oscars was seen by a billion TV viewers. Every Oscar year since 1973... Sacheen is remembered for that moment. Native Americans praised her as a "hero" for standing up against the Hollywood establishment.
The Academy wrote Sacheen a letter of apology for the backlash she had received after the 1973 Oscar ceremony. She claimed in her book that she was blacklisted.
The San Francisco Chronicle recently interviewed Sacheen's two sisters (10/22/2022). They had claimed they were not invited to Sacheen's funeral. They also claim that she isn't a Native American. She's of Mexican & White descent.
Sacheen has never showed her Tribal identification card nor paper documents proving that she is an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe. Today, Native activists in Hollywood demand Tribal ID cards and/or paper documents. They want real Indians to play themselves on TV and in movies.
It's interesting that the Native American media are quiet after this San Francisco article came out. It's been 49 years since that Oscar night and Natives have always praised Sacheen as a symbol of "protest." Are they in denial because they want to hold onto that protest moment? It looks like there is no proof of her Native American heritage.
The Academy had no comment on the new revelations. It is unclear whether they will rescind their apology.

Classic '48 Hours' episode 'Live to Tell: The Birthday Party'
48 HOURS on CBS. The producers no longer air this kind of series. Victims of horrific crimes who live to tell about it.
This 2016 episode captured my interest because I didn't know that real "Kidnapping" can land you in prison for 30 years. This man's story is almost unbelievable because law enforcement thought he was making-up a story.
CBS NEWS has this online. The video never plays though. So, I found it at "Daily-Motion."

Angela Lansbury 'The Manchurian Candidate' and 'Murder, She Wrote' dies at 96
Dame Angela Lansbury had portrayed the "good" characters in a decades-long career with Movies, TV and Broadway... There was one role though that gave Angela deep range as an actress. It's in the 1962 film, "The Manchurian Candidate." She portrayed a mother whose ambition helps her husband in politics at Washington D.C. The loving mom also knew that her son had been brainwashed during the Korean War.
She began to brainwash her fragile "boy" to kill her husband's political rival. She stopped at nothing to gain power and it was completely diabolical. Watch this classic film and you'll see a very different Angela Lansbury. What a performance.!!!
The 1962 film was remade in 2004 with Meryl Streep as the mother. I didn't watch it because Angela Lansbury made the role too good to beat. She won her 3rd Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress for "Candidate."
Yes - We will always remember Angela in "Murder, She Wrote" and "Beauty and the Beast." Plus, her Broadway Tony winner, "Mame." But... I will never forget her performance in "The Manchurian Candidate." Rest in Peace Miss Lansbury...
Walls close in on Shauna 'Internal Affairs' from 'Dateline' podcast
Well - The walls start to close in on Shauna whose husband finally takes off his "blinders." He discovers the truth about his lying-cheating-manipulative-wife. Plus, he was let go from the police department after tampering with evidence.
She claims in several jail-house phone calls that she was framed for killing Heather. Her supposed best friend Michelle talks to the police about what she knows... Will the truth finally come out?

In My Opinion - Those parents were so right in using their own money to investigate the death of their daughter. The husband is guilty as "Hell" who brainwashed his daughters into thinking their mom committed suicide. The parents did right by their daughter.

'Coal Miner's Daughter' country legend Loretta Lynn dies at 90
Loretta Lynn was considered the "First Lady of Country Music" and she certainly lived up to that name since her first hit song back in 1960 "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl."
She spoke her mind as a song-writer and recorded that music. "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)" & "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind)."
She was also labeled a feminist in the 1970's. "Rated-X" (About divorced women) & "The Pill" (About female contraception).
Loretta's signature song is "Coal Miner's Daughter" which is about her growing up poor in Butcher Holler. It hit number #1 in 1970. She wrote an autobiography with the same name. It was produced as a movie appropriately titled, "Coal Miner's Daughter" 1980. Sissy Spacek portrayed Loretta who did her own singing in the film. Sissy won the Best Actress Oscar for that year.
My favorite song from Loretta is the number #5 hit, "You're Lookin' at Country" 1971.

Murder Mystery Deepens in 'Dateline' Podcast 'Internal Affairs' Episode 4
DATELINE Podcast from NBC. The newest story is called, "Internal Affairs" with Josh Mankiewicz... It started out like a Goddamn Soap-Opera inside a police department. Now - It is a murder mystery involving a married couple who both might have pulled the trigger on a woman...
Listen carefully... Police investigate two of their own in the department. Shauna is arrested who is "too much" in the detective interviews. Her husband is also charged with evidence tampering. He may have switched two guns from his family truck. The bullets that killed that woman belonged to one of those guns. Check it out....

Podcast 'Unsolved Mysteries' will return in November 2022
UNSOLVED MYSTERIES on SPOTIFY. Well... The 2nd Podcast season has some compelling stories and will return in November 2022... They've had several "gruesome" murders that remain unsolved to this day. Those families left behind continue to fight for "truth" along with police detectives.
Multiple stories caught my interest, but none more so than, "The Professor's Execution." I listened to this murder mystery again and again...
Matthew's ex-wife sounded like she just wanted a "baby" from him... She is an illegal immigrant from the country of Poland. After having her child. She accused him of abuse which was unfounded. Because she is illegal. Matthew got shared custody after their divorce. He also received more rights as a US citizen. She was not happy because of the restrictions on her immigration status.
After he was shot to death. She stopped cooperating with everyone and stayed close to her "Polish" community in the state of Illinois. In my opinion... She hired a Polish hit-man to kill her ex-husband. He was ambushed in the middle-school parking lot where he was to pick up his son.
