The season premiere episode from "48 Hours" is called, "The Widow on Solway Road" that will air this Saturday on Sept. 30, 2017 at 10/9 p.m.

Erin Moriarty recorded a lengthy, "Podcast" on the controversial case called, "The Widow." It covers a lot of ground and it is quite fascinating. I was "glued" to each of the 6-part segments. The audio from 2003 was recorded by police at the crime scene. It says a lot about this case. I won't give anything away, but that I loved it...!

"The Widow" is an extension of this week's episode. Other TV fans of "48 Hours" will enjoy it too.

'SAG-AFTRA' Strike against 'Video Game Producers' suspended...!

Dear (SAG-AFTRA) Member,

"We have great news. Our negotiating committee has reached an agreement to end the strike against 11 video game companies that has been ongoing since October 21, 2016. Accordingly, you are free to resume working for the companies that were struck on all titles effective immediately."

"I want to acknowledge the incredible work of the SAG-AFTRA Interactive Negotiating Committee, chaired by Keythe Farley. Their commitment to reflecting the concerns and the voices of the member community is embodied in this agreement."

"The terms of the tentative agreement, which was reached early Saturday morning, resolved two points of contention we had with the employers: transparency and secondary compensation."

"First, it instituted a new bonus structure that provides an additional payment to performers beyond their session fee. The newly-bargained terms also include significant improvements in the area of transparency."

"This expanded information will empower performers and their representatives to bargain knowledgeably for compensation and to understand the nature of the performance that will be required, both of which have been a challenge for our members in an environment characterized by code names and secrecy."

"The National Board will vote on the contract at its October meeting. The new terms take effect upon ratification."

"In the meantime, members are free to provide covered services pursuant to the expired terms of the prior Interactive Media Agreement with the struck companies effective immediately."

Strength in unity,

Gabrielle Carteris
(SAG-AFTRA President)

Taylor Sheridan's 2018 TV series, 'Yellowstone' gets backlash over Native casting

"Yellowstone" is said to be filming right now and it is a new limited TV series that has already gotten flack over Native/Indigenous casting. Adam Beach (Suicide Squad) said this on his Instagram page, "Failure in diversity. I'm asking Native actors to stay away from this project. 'Yellowstone' is telling the world that there are no native actresses capable of leading a TV show. Unless your great, great, great grandparents are Cherokee." Kelsey Asbille has been cast in the TV series who is of Asian descent. It is not clear whether she has any Cherokee tribal blood or not.

Beach's protest came back in July of 2017. According to the "Internet Movie Database" (IMDB). The native male roles have already been cast. They include, Gil Birmingham, Atticus Todd, Jeremiah Bitsui and Kenneth Ruthhardt. Kelsey is listed as the lead native female character.

"Yellowstone" will premiere in 2018 with a 10-episode order for the Paramount Network. It.., "Follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders — land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park."

Click Photo for DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD news on YELLOWSTONE.
(Yellowstone official logo).

Many native performers and activists agree with Adam Beach. There are real Native/Indigenous actresses who could play Kelsey's part.

Native actor, Kenneth Ruthardt responded to Adam on his public Facebook page. (Here it is with added corrections for clarity). "I don't know Adam Beach, but I have seen his work. More recently, I read about his disapproval of non-Natives cast as Natives in productions. And I agree with him, but take exception to his call for Native actors to boycott certain projects."

"What would a boycott achieve? Nothing. The hard truth I learned about the film and television industry is, it is a business and it must make money. The only reason we are seeing Native actors on screen today is because a writer is hot at the moment and he can do what he wants. Just so long as it makes money. My second hand understanding is 'Wind River' was his (Taylor Sheridan's), first script and Hollywood said, 'no way.' He came back with 'Comancheria' (Hell or High Water) and Hollywood wanted a white deputy and less Indians. Try again. So he wrote 'Sicario' and that raked in $84 (million) and gets three (Oscar) nominations. Hollywood asked for more. 'Hell or High Water' gets nominated and he is the golden child. What would you like to do next? 'Wind River' and 'Yellowstone' get a green-light."

Let's say you boycott 'Yellowstone' because a non-Native is playing a Native. All it takes is a stroke of a pen and the Native story-line is gone and at least six Native actors don't work. Including me. When was the last time you saw six Native actors working on a TV show? I can't think of anything off the top of my head. If you said, 'Scalped' sorry. The TV show set on a reservation with an all Native cast, was recently shelved according to a reliable source. I saw the pilot and it is good (full disclosure, I'm in it). Studios wanted an, off-reservation perspective."

"'Wind River' has an off-reservation perspective and tells the brutal truth about contemporary Indian Country. Natives are upset about this film because another white savior is the main character and choose not to see it. I bought a ticket last weekend and if you boycotted this film. You missed a good story and nine solid performances by Native actors. Nine-Native-Actors. When was the last time you saw nine Native actors on the big screen? 'Smoke Signals', 'Skins'..., 20 years ago."

"I agree with Adam and think there are too many instant Indians in Hollywood and the glacial progress Natives have made in this industry is unconscionable. But a boycott does not help anyone and what people don't understand is (that) acting is a profession. Just like the profession you choose to pay the bills. Do you agree 100% with the corporation you work for and its values? Are you going to quit your job tomorrow because an action they took is not aligned with your values? Doubtful. I would love to pick and choose what projects I work on and maybe one day when I'm well into my acting career. I'll seek the approval of a Native Nation before I accept a role. Until that day comes I am going to work."

"Yes, the system is broken, but we need to take what we can and work to make it better. Indian Country does this by working on shows, purchasing tickets, watching TV shows, writing content and financing projects like the 'Tunica-Bolixi' Tribe of Louisiana did."

"Or we can boycott productions and completely disappear."

Taylor Sheridan wrote and directed "Wind River" (2017) that has gotten rave reviews. As of Sept. 18, 2017. It has made $34,784,967 (million) at the world wide box office.

'America's Got Talent' 5 more talent acts head to the final 2017

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. Below are the last 5 talent acts heading toward the final for 2017. The winner will receive $1 million dollars and a Las Vegas show at Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Angelica Hale" (girl singer) / "Mandy Harvey" (deaf singer) / "Light Balance" (dance group).

"Kechi" (singer), "Dunkin' Save" Vote Winner.

"Diavolo" (acrobat group) Judge's Vote.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 none of my favorites made it to the 'Final'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. The 2nd semi-final was tops in my book and it came down to America's vote. All of my votes went to my favorite, "Merrick Hanna." I felt it wasn't his best, but he was good who made it this far. None of my favorites got to the "Final" this year 2017.

I liked 9-year-old, "Celine Tam" who has a beautiful voice. She didn't receive enough votes to make it to the final. I also liked, "Light Balance" and especially, "Colin Cloud" who stepped up his game -- big time. He lost in the "Dunkin' Save" votes and the judges didn't choose him to head toward the final...,

Stephen King's 'IT' scares up Box Office with a whopping $123 million

Well, critics expected "IT" to make at least $100 million over this last weekend. But, it exceeded all those expectations and broke records for an R-rated Horror Flick. "IT" nabbed an estimated $123 million at North American theaters. It also opened at the Foreign box office and grabbed $62 million.

It certainly was the most anticipated horror movie by film audiences in at least 5 years. When the teaser trailer landed. It became a sensation. Stephen King wrote the novel, "IT" and even he praised the movie.

Horror fans even dressed as clowns to screen the movie which rattled some audiences. (I saw, "IT" and I must say that it stayed real close to the novel. There were some good scares in the theater seats too. I'd liked to see it again.).

Friday night’s episode on Sept. 8, 2017 was called, “The Target.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 4.30 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.9 million TV viewers with the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “20/20” (ABC) grabbed 3.20 overall & reached 0.7 with adults. “Blue Bloods” (CBS) nabbed 4.53 overall & 0.5 with adults (repeat).

'America's Got Talent' 2017 The 1st semi-final sends '5 Talent Acts' to final

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. America has voted and the first semi-final round has sent 5 talent acts to the final.

"Preacher Lawson" (comedian) / Darci Lynne (ventriliquest) / "Sarah & Hero" (dog acrobat).

"Evie Clair" (singer) "Dunkin' Save" vote.

"Chase Goehring" (singer) "Judges Pick"

'America's Got Talent' 2017 The 1st semi-final loves Darci Lynne

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. Well, the semi-finals brought some tough competition. Fans have been complaining that there were too many singers in 2017. Most of them didn't receive enough "votes" to head toward the "final." Mike Yung, Johnny Manuel, Great Works-Gospel Choir and Yoli Mayor were all sent home on Wednesday night. America has voted...,

I was pulling for Johnny Manuel. In my opinion, he should've stuck with the female artist songs. Judges, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell told him to stick with that. He didn't and sung an original song and it disappointed. It was good, but win AGT 2017 first and then perform your own work later. Johnny had a good run, but didn't get enough votes.

All of my votes went to the talent act that astounded me. This is the semi-finals and Darci Lynne (young ventriloquist) was great, funny and entertaining. She's got talent and just might win it all. She was voted onto the Final...,

Next Week is the 2nd Semi-Finals. It is also the battle of the two 9-year-old girl singers and my favorite, Merrick Hanna.

DATELINE on NBC. The next episode is called, "Target" that will air this Friday at 10/9 p.m. This is a new episode and it looks intriguing.

It turns out that she is not interested in buying a car but in planning a murder. Andrea Canning reports on her twisted scheme, which shocks even the town's most seasoned detectives."

'Elementary' Sadly, won't return until mid-TV season 2018

ELEMENTARY on CBS. This TV show survived a risky move from Thursdays to Sundays last year 2016. It made room for "Rush Hour" that was cancelled because of bad TV ratings. "Elementary" was pre-empted by professional games and award shows in 2017 while airing on Sunday nights at 10/9 p.m. Now, fans have to wait for the 6th TV season to begin in 2018.

A new TV show called, "Wisdom of the Crowd" will air on Sunday nights this Fall at 8/7 p.m. It bumps "NCIS: Los Angeles" to 9/8 p.m. "Madame Secretary" moves to 10/9 p.m. "Elementary" is now off the schedule because of another new show. (Rats!).

I am not happy about this at all.

Kono and Chin Ho will be written out of the show after contract disputes fell through right before the 8th TV season began filming. CBS quickly cast two new characters and Kono's husband Adam will be bumped up to a regular.

'IT' opens this Friday Sept. 8, 2017

Stephen King's "IT" will open on 4,000 movie screens in North America this Friday. The much anticipated horror film is based on the best selling book.

Real life "clowns" are complaining that the movie might ruin their careers. There is a clown in the film terrorizing kids and it doesn't look good. (I bought my advance tickets.).
