Fallout continues after Trump 'Hate' Rally offends US Puerto Rican voters

DONALD TRUMP rally inside MADISON SQUARE GARDEN (New York City). It was held last Sunday (10-27-2024). Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called the island of Puerto Rico "garbage." It offended many undecided Puerto Rican voters in the U.S. They have now cast their votes for Kamala Harris as President.

General Election is Nov. 5, 2024.

Trump visits Albuquerque to hold a Republican rally on Oct. 31, 2024 (Halloween). Why? Because New Mexico is a "blue" Democratic state. The 5 electoral votes went to Hillary Clinton in 2016 and to President Biden in 2020. They will probably go to Kamala Harris in 2024.

The City of Albuquerque is still owed $444,986 including interest from the Trump campaign. He visited New Mexico in 2016 and 2019.

Below is a report from "Meidas-Touch" online news.

Trump 'Hate' Rally in Madison Square Garden Oct. 27, 2024

DONALD TRUMP rally inside the MADISON SQUARE GARDEN (New York City). The Presidential Election is Nov. 5, 2024 with 8 days to go. A "hate" filled rally by Trump's closest supporters and fans took aim at minorities in the U.S. Misogynist and racist speeches ran nearly 4 hours before Trump walked onto the stage.

This is nothing new with Trump who has spent the last 10 years hating on "minorities." His campaign had to separate from Tony Hinchcliffe who called the island of Puerto Rico "garbage." He is supposed to be a comedian but his racist jokes didn't land too well. His speech has gone viral over the Internet and has offended thousands of Puerto Rican US citizens.

The outrage has hit the major and local news outlets in the U.S. Thousands of Puerto Ricans are also going on TIK TOK and INSTAGRAM websites. They have decided to vote Kamala Harris as U.S. President.

The Trump campaign made a big mistake because Puerto Ricans total over 200,000 registered voters in the U.S. It is being reported that those "undecided" made their decision after Trump's rally.

Classic Movie Flashback 'Children of a Lesser God' 1986 with William Hurt

CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD distributed by PARAMOUNT pictures (1986). It was critically acclaimed because of the subject matter (People who are deaf and cannot hear). The production budget climbed to $10.5 million. It reached $101 million at the world wide box office. It was surprisingly more popular outside of the United States.

"Children" was adapted from the stage theatre play (1979) of the same name. It was a hit on Broadway (1980) in New York and won several Tony awards including best drama. It ran until 1982 before closing.

The story focuses on a deaf woman (Marlee Matlin) who is a custodian at a school for the hearing impaired. A male speech teacher (William Hurt) comes to the school. Him and the custodian fall in love.

"Children" hit the mainstream and the focus on "deafness" was very positive. It was also the debut film of Marlee Matlin who won the Oscar as Best Actress (1987). She was the youngest to win (21 yrs.) in the Academy show history. Plus, the first deaf actress to also win.

Matlin was very good but I think William Hurt gave a strong performance through his "sign language." He was Oscar nominated as Best actor for that year.

This was 1986 and the film was praised by everyone including the "deaf" community. Sadly, this kind of movie would never be repeated by a Hollywood studio.

CBS says, "An updated report on the murder trial of Frederick Mueller, who was charged with the 2008 murder of his wife, Dr. Leslie Mueller. She was killed while the two were out for a walk near their vacation home in Lake City, Colorado."

"According to what Frederick Mueller told police, while the Muellers were hiking, Mueller stopped to take a photo of his wife near the edge of a cliff. He said his wife lost her footing near the waterfall and plunged into a creek. Her body was swept away downstream. It appeared to be an accident, but investigators were skeptical and believed it was murder."

Grade C+ Review 'Alien: Romulus' 2024

ALIEN ROMULUS from 20th CENTURY FOX (2024). Synopsis: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

As of Oct. 22, 2024. The worldwide box office total is $349,633,818 Million.

You can watch "Alien: Romulus" streaming online at VUDU.

I didn't get a chance to watch this in movie theaters. I'm a huge fan of the "Alien" franchise. I was anticipating a great space thriller and I'm a little disappointed.

First, this film is a homage to "Alien" (1979), "Aliens" (1986), "Alien 3" (1991) and "Alien: Resurrection" (1997). You have to be a fan of these movies to catch all of the throwback references. Especially with the android(s).

Second, the set design is fantastic and scary. At a certain point in the film. It became claustrophobic.

Third, it has become a more gross out "attacks" by the Aliens. It's a different take and effective.

That's all there is folks.... I didn't care about any of the characters including the lead "Rain" (Cailee Spaeny). We never find out who she is but only an orphan. She and her brother are part of a group of misfits.

What I love about Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) in the first four films. We care about who she is and where she came from. She wakes up screaming from nightmares about an alien. Her battle is to fight this thing in space and not get impregnated by the species. This battle crosses four films.

Saturday night's '48 Hours' episode 'Who Killed Aileen Seiden in Room 15?'

48 HOURS on CBS. Last night's episode was called, "Who Killed Aileen Seiden in Room 15?" (10/19/2024). It is now streaming on CBS and Paramount+.

Note: I watched this twice because I think Christina Aruajo got off too easy. She pleaded "no contest" and received 25 years in prison. She was also a witness against Zach Abell who received "Life" in prison. In my opinion, Christina was the one who beat and killed Aileen. The proof is in that photo after the killing. I was glad her dad stood up in court and denied that he used his position as a cop to protect her. She'll be 63 yrs. when released from prison. This episode made me angry.

Podcast 'The Vanished' episode 'The Woman in the Well'

THE VANISHED podcast 2024. The newest episode is called, "Goldie Thornsberry Part 1: The Woman in the Well."

In the year 2000. A human skull was found inside an empty well. It turned out to be a female whose body was dismembered before being thrown into that well. Her hands were never found. She could not be identified and was named, "Jane Doe."

In the year 2010. Police authorities performed a clay bust of the woman. A male noticed the clay creation on the news. He claimed that it looked like his neighbor Goldie Thornsberry who disappeared in 1996.

Goldie's family claimed that she went to visit family but never returned. Her daughter Rita and husband Raymond had lived with Goldie. They were soon evicted while Goldie remained missing. They also left town.

Was this murder?

The 'Dateline' episode 'Wrong Turns' with Josh Mankiewicz

DATELINE on NBC. Last Friday night's episode was called, "Wrong Turns" (10-4-2024). It was a 2-hour segment.

This is a TV recap.

I usually don't do this unless the episode makes me think hard about why people "Murder." What I love about "Dateline" is that it always unfolds like a mystery. The truth eventually is revealed by the end. Plus, when there is a "twist" in the story. It is revealed by the killer and/or killers.

This story starts out simple. A young woman marries a man. She sees his deep human flaws and begins divorce proceedings. She believes that their marriage was a mistake. She moves on and doesn't know that he will never move forward. Never.

She gets a new boyfriend and becomes pregnant. A plan is set in motion for her to be "harmed." That plan is not thought out very well and the innocent die because they are in harm's way.

"Dateline" focuses hard on the parents in this case. Their kids are caught up in turmoil. These parents suffer deeply and it is pure agony to watch. They ask themselves, "how is my child a part of this?"

This story is about money, greed and jealousy. The killer's web snatched up willing participants who didn't know the out-come which led to not one - but two murders.

There are many stories like these from "Dateline." Some murders are unsolved but each story involves parents who never see it coming. Who never asked for the suffering and grief they have to live with until they die. Their kids took some, "Wrong Turns" and it's devastating to watch.

I'll post the Podcast episode of "Wrong Turns" when it streams online.

Classic Movie Flashback 'Sixteen Candles' 1984 with Molly Ringwald

SIXTEEN CANDLES distributed by UNIVERSAL pictures. The production budget climbed to $6.5 million and grossed $26.3 million at the box office. It was considered a hit film that was written & directed by John Hughes. He would be known as "the" teen director of the 1980's.

The story surrounds Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald) who is about to turn 16-years-old. It would be her "sweet sixteen" birthday which is a special milestone in a girl's life. The special day comes and her family forgets about it. Meanwhile, she has a crush on a high school senior, Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling). Samantha doesn't know how to approach him. She is also chased by a geek named Farmer Ted (Anthony Michael Hall) who is her age. His crazy antics "drive" her crazy.

This teen comedy launched the career of Molly Ringwald who worked a lot throughout the 1980's. She is mostly remembered for "Sixteen Candles" that became more popular when released on VHS home video. I missed it in theaters but rented it on video. It's one of those teen comedies that you watch a lot until you grow into your 20's. It certainly was a cut above all the other teen sex movies of that era.

Classic Movie Flashback 'Return of the Jedi' 1983 with Harrison Ford

RETURN OF THE JEDI distributed by 20th CENTURY FOX (1983). This is the 3rd film in the first trilogy of movies, (Star Wars 1977 - The Empire Strikes Back 1980 - Return of the Jedi 1983). There are prequels and more sequels. Plus, stand alone movies and TV series.... Honestly, I lost count and only watched the first three films.

The 1983 "Jedi" production budget climbed to $42 million but grossed a massive $374 million worldwide. It became the highest grossing movie of that year. It was later re-released into theaters and the total gross climbed to $482 million.

"Jedi" continues the fight between the galactic empire and the freedom fighters of the rebel alliance. Luke Skywalker tries to bring Darth Vader back to "The Force."

Good Grief - I was 18-years-old in 1983 and I watched "Jedi" late in the summer. It was so much fun. A popcorn movie.

I actually never watched the "Star Wars" trilogy since and not even on VHS home video. Nor DVD and BluRay. I'd like to see "Jedi" again though.

Below is the original 1983 movie trailer.

Below is a news report on the 1983 opening of "Jedi." Those were the days when fans lined up for hours to watch their favorite films. In this case it was for "Jedi."
