'True Detective 3' episode one, 'The Great War and Modern Memory'

TRUE DETECTIVE 3 on HBO. The first episode is called, "The Great War and Modern Memory." In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 1.44 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.48  million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic. 

Detective Wayne Hays ( Mahershala Ali) is interviewed by a TV crew decades after 2 kids had gone missing in Ozarks, Arkansas. He flashes back to 1990 when he was re-interviewed by police about the 1980 missing case of a boy and a girl. Wayne and his detective partner Roland West (Stephen Dorff) investigate. Wayne served in the Vietnam War who tracks evidence on his own. 

There is a search for the kids as the detectives uncover a terrible marriage between the parents. They also interview everyone who saw the kids riding around their neighborhood on bikes. (Spoiler Alert). Wayne finds the bicycle ridden by the boy and soon finds his dead body inside a cave. "Flash Forward" to 1990 during the interview. Wayne is told the missing girl may be alive after her finger prints match an adult woman.
