'America's Got Talent' 2017 Seven more talent acts head to the semi-finals

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. The semi-finals begins next week and the talent acts have been chosen by America.

My favorite is "Merrick Hanna" who got to the semi-finals last week. My other 2 favorites didn't make it, "Puddles Pity Party" and "Demian Aditya." I added a new favorite last week, "Johnny Manuel" after his fantastic performance that got him into the semi-finals.

Below are the final 7 talent acts heading into the semi-finals next week.

"Diavolo" (dance group), "Kechi" (singer), "Chase Goehring" (singer), "Mike Yung" (singer), "Sarah and Hero" (dog tricks).

Dunkin' Save;  "Colin Cloud" (mind reader) and the Judges Pick; "Greater Works" (gospel choir).

'America's Got Talent' 2017 'Diavolo' heads into semi-finals

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. Well, this round of quarter-finals was just "okay" to me. I was not blown away by a lot of the talent acts. But, I enjoyed the dance-acrobatic group "Diavolo" who actually looked like a Las Vegas show.

I was rooting for Oscar Hernandez (dancer/choreographer), but he clearly isn't a contender. I liked the way he used his sexy cheerleaders in the first live show. He didn't use any of his new dancers. He gave it a shot though and good for him. I was also pulling for the Salsa dance duo, "Junior & Emily." Both of them and Oscar didn't receive enough votes to move on.

So, with that..., All my votes went to "Diavolo" and they are heading into the semi-finals.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 technical difficulty brings 'Light Balance' to semi-finals

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. "Light Balance" had a technical difficulty during the live show and they used their dress rehearsal as the performance. It brought them through to the semi-finals. They got enough votes by America.

Below are the 7 talents acts heading into the semi-finals.

Celine Tam (singer) / Eric Jones (magician) / Evie Clair (singer) / Johnny Manuel (singer) / Light Balance (dance group) / Mandy Harvey (singer) / Merrick Hanna (dancer).

'America's Got Talent' 2017 Merrick Hanna got all my votes

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. 12-year-old Merrick Hanna is a dancer who returned to his spectacular audition. This time he told a story through dance with background visuals. The song was great too. He was my 3rd favorite of this competition and has moved into the number #1 spot. He got all my votes last night who received enough to head into the semi-finals. I stick with favorites all the way.

My top pick Demian Aditya (escape artist) didn't get enough votes because his talent act was sabotaged by a big technical problem. I just couldn't believe it because he was so great in earlier rounds. He fooled everyone. It was a huge let down and it was his own fault. His contraption didn't work and you have to check your "props" before every live performance. He got none of my votes which all went to Merrick Hanna.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 Johnny Manuel rises up to the occasion

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. Tuesday night's live show was crazy, but 7 of the 12 talent acts move onto the semi-finals. One of the them is singer, Johnny Manuel, who blew-it-out-of-the-park with, "And I am telling you. I'm not going." It is from the Broadway Hit, "Dream-girls." It was originally sung by Jennifer Holliday (1982) and it is a hard song to sing for women and especially for men.

Johnny received the golden buzzer during the "Judges Cuts" and took advantage of his next opportunity. He rose to the occasion and went for it. He got enough votes to head into the semi-finals

I wish I could've had a vote for him, but Merrick Hanna is my 3rd favorite of this competition. He got all my votes. My 2nd favorite, "Puddles Pity Party" was eliminated last week.

Johnny Manuel was awesome...,

Comedian 'Jerry Lewis' dead at age 91

Jerry Lewis was my mom's favorite comedian. She introduced him to me at an early age. He also became a favorite of mine. I still have old VHS tapes of his movies. My favorite is "The Caddy" and I've watched it too many times. He was part of a comedy duo along with singer, Dean Martin. They performed together as "Martin & Lewis" for exactly 10 years.

If you want a great interview from Jerry Lewis. Check out, "Later with Bob Costas" (NBC) which is on YouTube. Lewis talks about everything including his break up with Dean Martin and their reunion on "The Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon" 1976. News reports are saying that, that reunion was uncomfortable. Lewis told Bob Costas otherwise. It's very revealing. Check it out if you can...,

Below is THE CADDY movie trailer.

'Dateline' Man guns down his rival in stairwell

“Dateline” (NBC) can be seen each Friday evening at 10/9 p.m. It was seen at 9 p.m. (central time) on the Albuquerque TV station KOB 4. Friday night’s episode on Aug. 18, 2017 was called, “Tangled Web.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.83 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.8 million TV viewers with the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “20/20” (ABC) grabbed 3.40 overall & reached 0.7 with adults. “Blue Bloods” (CBS) nabbed 4.60 overall & 0.5 with adults.

“Dateline” is a TV show focusing on crime and murder in the United States. Last night’s episode was reported and narrated by Andrea Canning.

“Tangled Web.” August 2012. Sam was shot four times inside a stairwell of an apartment building. Several residents heard the gunshots and called 911-Emergency. Sam died after his family took him off life support. He was at that apartment building because Diane was there. They were having an affair. One resident saw an unknown male standing across the small lake watching. Why? Diane said that, that man had claimed he was a plumber, who she let into her apartment. She also said she saw him right after Sam was killed in that stairwell. Who is this man?

'America's Got Talent' 2017 The 'Dunkin' Save' results

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. Correct me if I'm wrong. "The Dunkin' Save" votes are for those talent acts who got the lowest numbers in the original tally. Christian Guardino (singer), Yoli Mayor (singer) and "Just Jerk" (dance team). America voted again during the live show. They chose Christian Guardino

YouTube video below is the results of "Dunkin' Save."

The AGT judges then got to choose their favorite of the last two talent acts. It was split with two votes for each act. The decision went back to America and who got the most votes from the live performances. America chose Yuli Mayor.

YouTube video below is of the final result.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 Girl singers head to semi-finals

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. 12 talent acts were cut down as America voted for their favorites. There were two "danger acts" who performed, "Bella Nock" (balancing act) plus "Bill & Emily England" (roller blade duo). America voted for Billy & Emily. I like them, but you can can only do so much rolling in a circle. We'll see what they do in the semi-finals.

Darci Lynne (singing ventriloquist) and Angelica Hale (singer) were both sent through to the semi-finals. Darci was the first talent act to get the golden buzzer from a judge. If she is spot on with her next performances. She just might win.

YouTube video below is "Part 2" of the results show.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 'Puddles Pity Party' got all my votes

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. The Live shows began and 12 talent acts performed. America has voted and one of my favorite's, "Puddles Pity Party" didn't get enough votes. He did get all my votes though. I thought he was good, despite getting the buzzer from a judge. He was my second favorite talent act for 2017.

YouTube video below is "Part 1" of the results show. In the Stairwell (acapella singing group) & Preacher Lawson (comedian) were voted onto the semi-finals. Both of them were surprises for me and I am not a fan of either. I stick with my favorites to the end.

Murder or Suicide? This is not an Accident

I put this picture up several months ago. A lot of people are calling this an accident. It isn't because it's either "Murder" or it's "Suicide."

Take a real close look and you decide.

The Light Lamp is Unplugged - It's Not a Suicide Note - Cigarette in Left Hand. She's Left Handed - Gun was Placed in Right Hand - There's only One Foot Sandal. There was a Struggle. - Blood Spatter Only on the Wall - The Stool.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 the final Judges Cuts

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. I thought this was the weakest group for the final cuts. Many of the Talent Acts didn't step up at all. Their auditions were better and were cut for that very reason. The Danger Acts were cut and so were The Magicians. I was not impressed with the gospel group nor the military "acapella" singers. The judges liked them and sent both through to the live shows. It is now up to America and their votes. I know who I'm voting for...,

Below are the last 7 Talent Acts heading into the Live Shows.

Johnny Manuel (singer) / Merrick Hanna (dancer) / Air Force acapella group (singers) / Artyon and Paige (kid dancers) / DaNell Daymon & Greater Works (gospel choir) / Pompeyo Family Dogs (dancing pooches) / Kechi (singer).

Below is a YouTube fan edit of this week's Judges Cuts.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 the Judges Cuts 'Merrick Hanna'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. I had 12-year-old Merrick Hanna as my top pick after his spectacular audition. He tells a story through dance movement. However, I didn't like his second performance as much as the first. He has fallen down to number #3 on my favorite's list. Let's see how he does in the live shows. It's up to America now with the voting...,

'America's Got Talent' 2017 Johnny Manuel gets final 'Golden Buzzer'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. The 4th week of the "Judges Cuts" has dropped 20 Talent Acts to 7. Next week begins the Live Shows...,

Singer, Johnny Manuel received the "Golden Buzzer" from this week's guest judge. I thought he did well, but his audition was more spectacular. (He covered Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" which has become a huge hit on YouTube). Critics are saying that too many singers have received the Golden Buzzer for 2017. Maybe, but the competition this year has a lot of great singers -- young and old. Johnny automatically goes to the Live shows.

'The Mummy' tops $400 million at world wide box office

THE MUMMY from DARK UNIVERSAL. The monster reboot hit Digital Platforms this month of August 2017. It will come to BluRay and DVD in September. According to "The Numbers" that tracks box office receipts. As of August 7, 2017. It has reached $402,336,163 (million) at the world wide box office. It is creeping up to $80 million in the U.S., with $79,965,535 (million).

Hollywood critics bashed the movie after it made less than expectations over its first weekend run. They even said the monster film would lose $95 million. It stars Tom Cruise and it's his biggest opening ever world wide. (Go below for complete box office numbers).

Production Budget: $125-95 (million).
World Wide Total: $402,336,163 (million).
Profit: $207,336,163 (million).

This does not exclude the marketing of the movie and the cut of Tom Cruise. Critics say that the total cost plus marketing reached $345,000,000 (million). If so, it has made $57,336,163 (million). Didgital, BluRay and DVD still has to be counted. Looks like it's making some cash back.

SAG-AFTRA votes-in a new 3-year-contract with producers

SAG-AFTRA sent out voting ballots to all 140,000 union members for newest contract with producers. Not all of them voted, but only 21,462..., That's only 15.33%. Those who voted "no" think that the outcome is fraudulent and there should be a recount. Well, only 15 percent voted and I don't think there would be another outcome. All Union members have to vote and they clearly didn't. Look at the numbers.

'Kidnap' with Halle Berry was ridiculous, but I loved it

KIDNAP was filmed back in 2014 and was put on hold while it's distributor, "Relativity Media" went into bankruptcy. It also went through at least 4 release dates and kept getting pushed forward. It finally opened this past Friday on Aug. 4, 2017. Halle Berry stars and she was also a producer of the movie.

According to "The Numbers" that tracks box office receipts. "Kidnap" nabbed $10,016,323 (million). This despite mixed to negative critic reviews across-the-board. The movie tracked well with preview audiences though. I bought advance tickets and went to see it over the weekend. It was preposterous, but I completely enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of Halle Berry...,

Al Gore hoped Donald Trump would take 'Climate Change' seriously

Al Gore is on the "talk show" circuit promoting his new movie, "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" from Paramount Pictures. It opened in movie theaters on July 28, 2017. It is also the sequel to the Oscar winning, "An Inconvenient Truth." He had an in-depth discussion on "Real Time: with Bill Maher" about his new film. He claimed that his talks with Donald Trump went nowhere because Trump wants to cut environmental funds for climate change.

'An Inconvenient Sequel' is now in movie theaters

AN INCONVENIENT SEQUEL: TRUTH TO POWER from PARAMOUNT PICTURES. This is the sequel to the Oscar winning, "An Inconvenient Truth." According to "The Numbers" that tracks box office receipts. "Sequel" has grabbed $488,371 since July 28, 2017. I went to see it and I loved it. Information is power. I recommend that you see it...,

Donald Trump is in this movie trailer who doesn't believe in climate change. He wants to cut funds that explore environmental causes which includes climate change. He also wants to give jobs back to coal miners, but that is an impossibility in 2017. The coal industry has moved toward solar energy to save lives.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 The Judges Cuts for 3rd week

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. 20 more Talent Acts were cut down to 7 heading into the live shows. It happens every year with "Dangerous" talent acts. They are cut if they're too dangerous by costing someone's life. 2017 is no different. Bello Nock and Jonathon Rinny will not head to the live shows...,

I have to agree with Simon Cowell about the boy band group, "5 Alive." They were good, but they just didn't rise above and their singing harmonies were off. They were sent home. A comedian actually went through to the first live show. "Preacher Lawson." I didn't think he was that funny, but the judges liked him.

Here are the 7 Talent acts heading to the Live Shows / Celine Tam (singer) / Oscar Hernandez (dancer) / Preacher Lawson (comedian) / Diavolo (dance group) / Brobots & Mandroidz (dance group) / Mike Yung (singer) / Billy & Emily (roller-skate acrobats).

Below is a "YouTube" fan edit of the Judges Cuts.

'America's Got Talent' 2017 Judges Cuts 'Oscar Hernandez'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. This the 3rd week of the Judges Cuts and it's "twiddling" down to those talent acts who stepped it up. Tuesday's performances were all very good, but some rose above the rest.

Oscar Hernandez is a male choreographer for professional sport cheerleaders. His dream was always to be a dancer at more than 6 feet-in-height and huge weight. He nailed his audition and then upped-it-a-notch with the second performance. Oscar is an original choreographer and dancer who is entertaining on his very own. He made it to the first live show. (Those cheerleaders are pretty hot too).

'America's Got Talent' 2017 Judges Cuts 'Celine Tam' Golden Buzzer

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. This is the 3rd week of the Judges making their cuts. 9-year-old singer, Celine Tam sung, "How am I supposed to live without you?" and received the golden buzzer from the guest judge. She automatically goes to the first Live show.

The battle is on with the two 9-year-old girl singers. Fans on "YouTube" have already begun choosing/arguing on who is the better singer. Is it Angelica Hale or Celine Tam? It's up to America because the voting begins during the live shows.

'The Mummy' is just short of $400 million at world wide box office

THE MUMMY from DARK UNIVERSAL. It arrives on Digital Platforms this August 2017 and on BluRay / DVD in September. (I pre-ordered my BluRay copy and got a discount...,).
