'New York Times' Mystery surrounding murder of college student

THE NEW YORK TIMES. The news article is called, "A Murder, a Conviction and a Never-Ending Case." (Published on Feb. 21, 2018). This surrounds the Oct. 12, 2003 murder of college student Mark S. Fisher. He was only 19-years-old and it looks like there may never be a resolution. A judge recently threw out the conviction of John Giuca. He was one of two men charged in Mark's murder who was shot five times. The drama wrapped-up in this murder has lasted 15 years.

Ladies and gentleman. It is a mystery and this is also a great read...,

'Internet Movie Database' website can still post an Actor's age

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) has won a court injunction to stop the age discrimination law AB 1687 (California). The entertainment website can still post the age of an actor or actress even without their knowledge. SAG-AFTRA apposed the judge's decision because Hollywood discriminates against older performers.

SAG-AFTRA says, "(They are) extremely disappointed with today’s (Feb. 20, 2018) ruling in IMDb v. Becerra and SAG-AFTRA. The Court unfortunately fails to understand or recognize the massive impact gender and age discrimination has on all working performers. That discrimination is facilitated by IMDb’s insistence on publishing performers’ age information without their consent."

"The ruling also refuses to recognize the reality of the commercial nature of IMDb’s database publishing operation. Despite sworn testimony submitted by SAG-AFTRA, the Court incorrectly concluded there were no material disputed factual issues, while precluding the parties from acquiring additional evidence or permitting the case to go to trial. SAG-AFTRA will continue to defend this much-needed law by appealing this ruling to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals." - Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, COO and General Counsel.

The Killing Game.” Rodney Alcala was a photographer who took pictures of women and girls. He is a charming man who once appeared on the 1970’s TV show, “The Dating Game.” Tali Shapiro lived in California who was abducted by Rodney while she walked to school. A witness saw him with the girl and called police. Tali was later found near death in the kitchen of Rodney’s home. She survived, but he fled to New York. The FBI put him on the “most wanted” list, but couldn’t track him down. His next victim was Cornelia Michael Crilley who had been stripped naked and strangled to death. 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' cancelled after one TV season, was great television

LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES on NBC. 2010-11. It's hard to believe it has been seven years since this TV show was cancelled. It was a spin-off of the original and long running, "Law & Order." Dick Wolf is the creator and he moved the spin-off to Los Angeles with a whole new cast. It looked very promising.

The TV series started, but ran only 9 episodes when NBC put it on hiatus. The reason was, I believe, due to low TV ratings. It returned a few months later with a new TV introduction and cast changes. Detective Rex Winters (Skeet Ulrich) was killed off in the 9th episode. That was a total shock to TV fans. Attorney, Connie Rubirosa (Alana De La Garza) was brought in from New York who was on the original "Law & Order." Prosecutor, Ricardo Morales (Alfred Molina) went back to being a detective and replaced Winters.

The last 8 episodes ran-out the TV season and then NBC cancelled it. There was a 22 episode order and the network aired the remaining 5 segments in the summer of 2011. NBC split the episodes as detective Rex Winters returned. Which meant that those episodes were already filmed before the changes at mid-TV season. It struggled to find an audience even though hardcore TV fans followed it from New York to L.A.

In my opinion, Terence Howard brought a lot of charisma to the TV show. The glitz and the glamour of L.A., also made it look intriguing. A big mistake was killing off Winters. Maybe, TV audiences were burned out on all the TV spin-off's. Who knows? I absolutely loved the L.A., version and believed it could've went 5 TV seasons.

CBS Robert Wagner 'Person of Interest' in 1981 death of Natalie Wood

48 HOURS on CBS. The episode, "Natalie Wood: Death in Dark Water" will air this Saturday Feb. 3, 2018 at 10/9 p.m.

CBS says, "Investigators tell '48 Hours' they have a person of interest in the mysterious death of actress Natalie Wood. In November 1981, the 'Rebel Without a Cause' actress drowned after disappearing from her family's yacht. Wood's death was originally ruled an accident, but in 2011, the Los Angeles County sheriff's department re-opened the investigation. Correspondent Erin Moriarty joins 'CBS This Morning' to preview her report."

(Just my opinion. I followed this case and don't believe the captain of the "Splendour." Dennis Davern changed his story after co-authoring a 2009 book. He was on that boat when Natalie disappeared. The LAPD may have new witnesses who have conveniently come forward 40 years later. I believe it was a tragic accident whether they changed the autopsy report on not.).
