GILLIGAN'S ISLAND Dawn Wells 'Mary-Ann' dies from COVID-19

GILLIGAN'S ISLAND on CBS (1964-1967). The TV comedy ran for only three TV seasons. The first season was filmed in Black and White. The second and third were filmed in Color. That first TV season grabbed 24.7 million TV viewers overall and was ranked at #18. The next year it dropped to #22 and then finally at #49.

The show ran in TV syndication during the 1970's and 1980s. That is where it became a cultural phenomenon and made each cast member enduring TV stars.

The argument over who was the "Sexiest" woman on the show had lasted for decades. Is it May-Ann (Dawn Wells) or Ginger (Tina Louise)?

Lately, Mrs. Howell (Natalie Schafer) has been chosen as a sexy contender. I liked them all.

Dawn Wells was 82-years-old when she died from complications of COVID-19. She will forever be Mary-Ann from Kansas who always baked pies. RIP....

Below is a scene from a favorite episode featuring the "Honeybees." Mary-Ann is on the far left.

WONDER WOMAN 1984 goes from 'Excitement' to down right 'Bad' reviews

WONDER WOMAN 1984 from WARNER BROS. The super-hero film opened well during the COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S.... It also premiered by internet streaming over at HBO Max on the same day as it hit movie theaters. The complete online numbers have not been reported.

But.... Movie critics and fans went from overall "Excitement" to one "God-Awful" super-hero movie. Just go to YouTube and watch the fans -- Rip this thing apart. Several movie critics didn't like it either.

I watched the movie and liked the 1980's time machine. That's about it because there were unexplained scenes in the story. It's up to you.... The movie-goer.

Below are two different reviews. One Good and one bad.

CBS on 40th anniversary of John Lennon's 1980 murder

DUNE director Denis Villeneuve disagrees with Warner Bros. decision to stream on 'HBO Max'

DUNE from WARNER BROS. The studio announced that in 2021. They will stream their new movies both on "HBO Max" and in theaters. That decision didn't go over well with film directors of their movies. Denis Villeneuve helmed "Dune" whose film will premiere October 2021. He wrote a biting article in "Variety."

He says, "I learned in the news that Warner Bros. has decided to release “Dune” on HBO Max at the same time as our theatrical release, using prominent images from our movie to promote their streaming service. With this decision AT&T has hijacked one of the most respectable and important studios in film history."

"There is absolutely no love for cinema, nor for the audience here. It is all about the survival of a telecom mammoth, one that is currently bearing an astronomical debt of more than $150 billion. Therefore, even though 'Dune' is about cinema and audiences, AT&T is about its own survival on Wall Street. With HBO Max’s launch a failure thus far, AT&T decided to sacrifice Warner Bros.’ entire 2021 slate in a desperate attempt to grab the audience’s attention...."
