PBS "Downton Abbey" the world changes in 1925 as servants are let go

DOWNTON ABBEY on PBS (S06E01). Downton Abbey is letting go of its' downstairs servants because of change in 1925. The working class has become independent. Ms. Bevin claims that she had seen Lady Mary with Lord Gillingham at a hotel. She wants to extort $1,000 from Mary or she will tell the newspapers about Mary's secret rendezvous. Police are still investigating Anna & John over the death of the man who raped Anna. Another female victim had apparently shoved that rapist in front of a truck that killed him.

Boy, Ms. Bevin is a greedy little thing. I hope Anna can have a baby with John. She thought she was pregnant, but is worried that she can't bare children. Interesting how tradition changes as the generational family homes are being sold off & servents let go. Poor Thomas Barrow, he thinks he will be let go because he's Gay. Paranoid because he's different. The Dowager has the best lines, "Doesn't it get cold up there on the moral high ground?" Hah! Great writing.
