'The Pink Skirt Murder' from 'Dateline' 2008 comes to a conclusion 2018

DATELINE on NBC. The episode was reported by Sarah James and it was called, "The Pink Skirt Murder." It covered the stabbing and bludgeoned murder of Adam Anhang (32 yrs). It happened in old "San Juan" at Puerto Rico (2005). Adam had managed a small restaurant called, "The Pink Skirt" that he had bought for his wife Aurea Vasquez (23 yrs). She and Adam had walked out of another restaurant called, "The Dragonfly" when both of them were attacked on the street. She suffered minor injuries and was brought to the hospital. He was stabbed multiple times and his skull was crushed by a heavy object.

Adam's father Abe Anhang traveled to Puerto Rico to investigate the murder of his only son. He protected Adam's multi-million dollar estate when Aurea tried to make a claim after Adam's death. She went to court, but Abe froze all of Adam's assets. He asked for Aurea to give up information on who wanted Adam dead. Rumors on the street said that she had something to do with it. She refused and fled the country. Jonathan Román-Rivera was charged with Adam's murder and he was sentenced to 105 years in prison.

Aurea ended up in Italy (2008) who gave birth to twins with an Italian man. She couldn't out-run her past though when a news reporter wrote an expose' on her. She was labeled the "black widow." The United States indicted Aurea and charged her in the murder-for-hire of Adam. Alex Pabon-Colon was soon arrested with killing Adam and Jonathon Rivera was released from prison. Aurea had promised Alex $3 million to kill her husband, but he never got any money. Two other people were involved in the attack. Alex pleaded guilty (2008). Aurea was lured to Spain and was arrested (2013). Italy doesn't extradite suspects who face the death penalty. Spain does and extradited her back to Puerto Rico where she stood trial (2018).

Aurea and all of her co-conspirators were found guilty on all accounts. Puerto Rico gives the death penalty and life in prison with murder-for-hire plots.
