The 3rd U.S., remake of "A Star is Born" will be with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. It has already earned critical rave reviews and a lot of "talk" for possible Oscar nominations.

1937. A STAR IS BORN. It earned 7 Oscar nominations including best actress for Janet Gaynor (Esther Blodgett). She lost to Luise Rainer (The Good Earth). William A. Wellman & Robert Carson won best writing (A Star is Born). This was not a musical and production cost rose to $1.2 million. It had grossed $2 million at the box office.

1954. A STAR IS BORN. It earned 6 Oscar nominations including best actress for Judy Garland (Esther Blodgett). She lost to Grace Kelly (The Country Girl). The musical also lost out in all categories and the production rose to a record $5 million. It had grossed $6 million at the box office. Judy received world-wide critical acclaim and it would be one of her last triumphs on film.

1976. A STAR IS BORN. It earned 4 Oscar nominations and only won for best original song (Evergreen) written by Barbara Steisand (Esther Hoffman) and Paul Williams. The musical production cost $6 million and earned a whopping $80 million at the box office.

2018. A STAR IS BORN. Lady Gaga (Ally). Synopsis, "Jackson Maine discovers—and falls in love with—struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer… until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons."
