Box Office Report 'Mission Impossible 8: The Final Reckoning' climbs to $560 Million

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 8: THE FINAL RECKONING from PARAMOUNT pictures (2025). Tom Cruise stars as Ethan Hunt who had his last "Mission: Impossible."

The Production budget climbed to $400 million. As of Sunday June 29, 2025. The box office performance has topped $561,996,365 million worldwide. When the movie was released. Critics said it will never break even. They also have been saying that marketing cost at least $200 million. So, it's still $40 million under water. (I think it will hit $600 million by Aug. 1, 2025). Critics will come up with a new excuse next week.

Check it out in IMAX because that's where it shines.

My Favorite 'America's Got Talent' performances 'Robert Finley'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. The winner receives a headline show at Las Vegas and $1 million dollars.

I've been watching all of the seasons I had missed in the past few years.

Robert Finley is a blind man who is 65-years-old. He auditioned in 2019 (Season 14) and sung an original song he wrote, "Get It While You Can." His voice was full of soul and authenticity. I loved it.... All of the judges voted him through to the next round.

Robert got better in the competition driven by that "voice." He made it to the Semi-Finals and America voted him to 6th place missing out in the Finals.

Season 14 brought in two new female judges Juliane Hough and Gabrielle Union. I believe it was because of sliding TV ratings. Their contracts were not renewed for a second year. (Too bad because Julianne is "hot").

Back in Movie theaters 'Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse' Documentary on July 4th, 2025

HEARTS OF DARKNESS: A FILMMAKER'S APOCALYPSE distributed by TRITON pictures (1991). After its' release 44 years ago. The documentary grabbed $1,318,849 million at the box office.

Film audiences got a behind-the-scenes look in the making of "Apocalypse Now" (1979). It was directed by Frances Ford Coppola. He also directed "The Godfather" (1972).

His wife Eleanor Coppola had complete access without her husband knowing. She recorded audio and video from the very troubled movie-set. It truly is fascinating to watch for anyone who loves movies. 

I walked into an independent movie theater to see it (1991).

Week 4 'America's Got Talent'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. The summer auditions are getting very fun. What I am witnessing with the judges. They love singers and/or bands who write their own original songs. Every popular song has been sung on this show. Unless the actual talented voice transcends the song. If you nail your original song. The judges plus the audience will love you. Sometimes they move into the finals.

A funeral director named Shuler King auditioned this week. He was so funny that the judges voted him through to the next round. Several comedians get to the finals and I think this guy might get there. He is hilarious.

The Funkateer Dancers consist of elder black men. They had some great foot work for their ages. Of course, they performed to the funk-master himself Rick James. I was surprised that they received the Golden Buzzer from host Terry Crews. They will head to the Live shows when America begins to "vote." My concern is can these elders be consistent as a headline show at Las Vegas? If they actually win? I enjoyed them though.

My Favorite 'America's Got Talent' Performances 'B. Thompson'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. The winner will receive a headline show at Las Vegas and $1 million dollars.

Like I said before. I'm catching up on what I missed after a few years of not watching. 

B. Thompson is a self-taught saxophonist who auditioned in season 19. He performed Tina Turner's 1984 hit "What's Love Got to Do With It?" He received four "yes" votes from the judges. Simon and Heidi were on the fence though. 

The audience loved him because it's a song by Tina Turner. I liked it because I grew up in the 1980's.

Unfortunately, B. Thompson was cut during the judge "deliberations." 39 other acts were also cut. It is tough because there are so many amazing performers. Who deserves to move forward? Who can be a headline act at Las Vegas?

Even if these performers don't move forward. They get full on exposure with AGT. They are seen by millions of TV viewers.

My Favorite 'America's Got Talent' Performances 'Michael Paul'

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. America votes for the winner who receives a headline show in Las Vegas and $1 million dollars. 

I had missed a few years and have been catching up with past auditions etc.... It is interesting that a great audition from any talent doesn't mean they get any better. A lot of performers fall in the next round.

A good example is Michael Paul who is a veteran comedian with 25 years experience in entertainment. His audition was called, "Birds of Prey" with season 14 (2019). Michael is a ventriloquist who has a pet bird. He was fantastic and all of the judges voted him through to the next round. 

He reached the "Judges Cuts" and what happened? His act was not funny and he bombed. Simon Cowell buzzed him and Michael was cut. You have to be a $1 Million Dollar Act. 

Nonetheless - Michael's AGT audition is pretty damn funny. Check it out below.

Box Office Report: 'Mission Impossible 8: The Final Reckoning' climbs to $540 Million

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 8: THE FINAL RECKONING from PARAMOUNT pictures (2025). Starring Tom Cruise. 

Well - The critics are pretty quiet these days. Why? Because they said this final movie in the franchise wasn't going to break even. It looks like they are wrong.

As of Sunday June 22, 2025. "The Final Reckoning" has climbed to $540,878,837 million. The production budget is $400 million. Some critics say the marketing cost an extra $150 million. So, that means the movie is still in the red with $10 million. Summer isn't over yet. 

I predict that "The Final Reckoning" will surpass $600 million by August 1, 2025. 

Even though the flying sequences were spectacular. When Ethan Hunt jumped into the dark sea waters from a helicopter. I was completely mesmerized with the whole underwater impossible mission.

Week 3 on America's Got Talent 2025

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT from NBC (2025). I've been catching up with AGT after missing quite a few years. I totally enjoy viewing the past performances.

The 3rd week of auditions (2025) was not as strong as previous weeks. I have to agree with the "judges." No matter how much the audience "likes" an act. That doesn't mean that they are a $1 Million Dollar Act.!!

So many performers do well on their first audition. The audience and judges like them.... But - these judges have seen it all and their job is to spot a $1 Million Dollar Act. They have to because when the talent enters the "Live" shows. They have to step it up for the next round. The judges help choose the "best" and then it is up to America when they vote.

Thousands of talent acts never get past the audition. Many are also cut during the judge deliberations. I thought a magician named Mike Jacobson would make it to the live shows. He was cut and I watched his audition again. He used "playing" cards and also invisible "playing" cards for fun. I believe that was his mistake. Why not use real playing cards for the second game too? It wasn't good enough and I think the judges saw that. Mike was good but he wasn't a $1 Million Dollar Act.

There have been many fun "light" show performances over the years. This week - a group called "Urban Theory" performed. They are below.

Box Office Report: June 16, 2025 'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning' surpasses $500 Million

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: THE FINAL RECKONING from PARAMOUNT pictures (2025). This is the 8th and final installment with Tom Cruise. 

Critics say it won't make any money back. Well.... As of June 15, 2025. It has grabbed $507,069,530 million at the worldwide box office. It has surpassed the production budget of $400 million. Critics also say that the budget was even higher with the marketing of the film. Tack on the extra $107 million and MI8 will still make cash at the foreign box office. (Summer just got started).

I saw it for a second time and in an IMAX theater. I loved it..!!

Classic Podcast '48 Hours' episode 'Living with a Stranger' 2012

48 Hours, "On March 18, 2010, Jamie Laiaddee vanished from her home in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. Her live-in boyfriend Bryan Stewart told everyone she had moved to Denver, Colorado to take a new job. When detectives started searching for Jamie, they discovered Bryan was a con man, and suspected he was also her killer.

This episode last aired on 12/29/12.

NBC 'America's Got Talent' is underway 2025

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC (2025). I revisited AGT after a few years away. The 3rd week begins this Tuesday with more auditions. There have been changes since the last time I watched. It takes 15 weeks to go through all of the auditions. Then, the Live shows begin leading up to the final. America "votes" for each talent act during the Live shows, the semi-finals and the final. The winner receives $1 million dollars and a Las Vegas act.

There are no more trips to Las Vegas after the auditions where many talent acts fall under the pressure. The judges cuts have also been eliminated. The "wild-card" segment is also terminated where a judge brings back a talent act for a second chance. Now, it appears online voters can choose a wild card act to move forward.

There is also a Golden Buzzer that sends the talent directly to the Live shows. Each judge and host get one Golden Buzzer.

I've watched the first two weeks of this season 2025. I've chosen two acts that have been voted through after their auditions.

Below is performer Micah Palace who had great energy.

Judge Simon Cowell hates Clowns. A talent act called, "Phobias" consisted of three non-speaking clowns. They were great. I like watching the audience during these horror performances. Who is scared etc.... This elderly male behind the judges was laughing and clapping during this whole act. Funny.

Saturday Night '48 Hours' Double Episodes

48 HOURS on CBS. The first hour segment is called, "The Killing of Officer Green" (6/14/2025). This was a repeat episode that had an update. 

IMO - She waited to ambush him. I think she was the only daughter with many brothers. They called her a spoiled princess who always got what she wanted. She carried it into adulthood and if she didn't get what she wanted. She actually pulled a gun.

Hello Everyone -- I caught a computer Virus sneaking through my favorite, "Bugs Bunny" cartoon network page. I grabbed it early enough "not" to damage my Chrome book laptop. For some reason.... The "Gifs" I use from "Giphy" froze on my Blog. It may not affect your Computer-Laptop-iPhone. I have to take them down. It will take some time because I posted a lot. I need to make sure the virus didn't attach to any "Gif."

Movie Box Office 'Mission Impossible: The Dead Reckoning' climbs to $450 Million

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: THE DEAD RECKONING from PARAMOUNT pictures (2025). The 8th Tom Cruise film is doing the impossible. Critics are saying the this last installment will not break even at the box office. 

Well - as of June 8, 2025. The U.S. Domestic total has grabbed $149,041,695 million after 17 days in release. At the International box office. It has climbed to $301,200,000 million. The Worldwide Box Office stands at $450,241,695 million.

The production budget climbed to $400 million. 

The movie has already broken even and still has legs for the rest of the summer 2025. I plan to see it again in an IMAX theater... WAHOO!

Also, Tom Cruise has made the Guinness Book of World Records. He has the record of 16 jumps from an airplane as his parachute burns up into flames. Way to go Tom.!!!

Classic Podcast '48 Hours' episode 'Defending Your Life'

48 Hours says, "For nearly 17 years, sisters Kim and Beth Jones of Snohomish, Washington, have been trying to prove that their father, Jerry Jones, Jr. is innocent of the Dec. 3, 1988 stabbing murder of their mother, Lee. Jones was tried and found guilty of his wife’s murder, but in 1999, an appeals court ordered him released due to an ineffective lawyer."
