HBO 'Leaving Neverland' grabs paltry TV ratings on both nights

LEAVING NEVERLAND on HBO. The cable network gambled on airing the controversial 2-part film. It failed to bring in any kind of decent numbers.

Sunday night at 9/8 p.m. In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 1.2 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.41 in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic.

Monday Night at 8/7 p.m. It grabbed 0.927 overall & a mere 0.26 with adults. Oprah Winfrey's special interview "After Neverland" at 10/9 p.m. It nabbed only 0.780 overall & 0.23 with adults.

I watched it all and it was complete "Tabloid Trash." It was also a one-sided story on Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck, plus their mothers. The two men accuse Michael Jackson of sexually molesting them as kids (Michael died in 2009). The filmmakers did not interview the Jackson family or reveal any physical evidence of alleged sexual abuse.

Oprah Winfrey used this opportunity to believe what Robson and Safechuck had to say. She didn't ask the Jackson family to face these accusers. She also never asked the tough questions like she did on her talk show. Nor did she try to get to the actual truth with any kind of evidence to corroborate their stories. She expects the public to "cancel" Michael Jackson.

HBO will play both episodes in repeats the rest of the week.
