"Leaving Neverland" (HBO) aired both in the U.S., and the United Kingdom (Channel 4) in one week. Mark Robson and Jimmy Safechuck allegedly accuse Michael Jackson of molesting them when they were kids (1980's and 1990's). They provided no physical evidence. The Jackson family was not interviewed for the documentary.
Here is the damage: A handful of radio stations around the world have dropped Michael from their music playlists. Plus, the animated TV show, "The Simpsons" dropped the "Michael" character from its' cast. The music of the "Jackson 5" dropped in sales by 4 per cent...
- Michael Jackson's "Number Ones" album jumped 44 notches landing at #43 for the week.
- "The Essential Michael Jackson" climbed up to #79 for the week.
- The hit single "Bad" jumped up to #74.
- The hit single "Thriller" climbed back up to #172.
- His combined album & song sales dropped by a mere 8,000.
- On-Demand Audio & Video Streams rose 6 percent to 19.7 million!
Michael Jackson died in 2009 and it seems that his legion of fans are standing by him a decade later 2019.
