George Floyd protests urge networks to cancel police TV shows COPS and LIVE PD

COPS from PARAMOUNT. The live on-camera TV show had debuted on FOX back in 1989 and after 41 years. It has been cancelled in TV syndication around the world. No new episodes will be ordered.

LIVE PD from A&E. It has been the top rated TV program on Friday and Saturday nights. It had grabbed 3 million TV viewers each weekend and because of those stellar ratings. A&E had already ordered 160 new episodes, but it has all been cancelled.

Producers have not announced if these two shows will ever return to television....

The reason is because of the current images (2020) of police brutality across the U.S. All after angry protests over the death of George Floyd who is black by Derek Chauvin who is a white police officer. It was caught on camera and seen around the world. Derek was terminated as a police officer and charged with second-degree murder.
