Former President - Donald Trump dodged another impeachment and this time by 10 votes. He is the only President to be impeached twice. He was acquitted for "Inciting Insurrection" on Jan. 6, 2021 that killed 5 people and injured multiple police officers.
- 67 Senate members had to have voted to Impeach (2/3).
- 57 Senators voted to - Convict.
- 43 Senators voted to - Acquit.
- 7 GOP Republicans crossed the aisle and voted with 50 Democrats.
The House of Representative Managers gave an incredible prosecution. They laid out Trump's plan to "Incite Insurrection" on Jan. 6, 2021.
Trump's lawyers gave a "laughable" defense who even denied that Trump lost a fair election.
There were no witnesses even after an overnight news "broke" with a phone call between Senator McCarthy and the Trump. The Senate decided not to bring any witnesses which finally ended a 5-day trial.
