NBC.48 Hours says, "In 2003, investigators were convinced that Traci Rhode had staged her husband’s suicide to get out of a troubled marriage and avoid a contentious divorce. After two frustrating years, they finally charged her with murder. But would a jury believe this loving mother was also a cold-blooded killer?"
“48 Hours" Correspondent Harold Dow reports.
Dateline says...,
48 HOURS on CBS. The first hour segment is called, "The Firefighter's Secret" that will air this Saturday at 9/8 p.m.
48 Hours says, "Amy Hurst and Wendy Huggy did not know each other, but they both went missing in Florida in 1982. Both cases languished for decades until Detective Lisa Schoneman, a member of the cold case unit, stepped in and a new investigation began."
“48 Hours" Correspondent Susan Spencer reports.
Dateline says, "A South Texas house fire kills Patricia Leigh Mills, while her young son escapes. When her husband remarries just months later, suspicion grows and questions emerge. Andrea Canning reports."
20/20 says, "After a woman was found dead, authorities uncovered an elaborate web of lies surrounding James Addie, spun to conceal his biggest secret of all – he was living a double life."
THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO on PBS MASTERPIECE (2026). The 8-part mini-series will make its' North American premiere March 22, 2026. I had watched the European premiere in 2025. I couldn't wait because I love the story of "Monte Cristo." I wrote a review right here at this Blog.
I've seen all of the movies plus TV series based on the Alexander Dumas novel. It goes way back to Silent Films (1910). I rate this recent TV mini-series at the top. The 2024 movie version was good too.
Fans can sign-up with a "PBS Passport" to stream "Monte Cristo" beginning March 1, 2026. I am signing up.
Check it out. You will not be disappointed.
PRIMATE from PARAMOUNT pictures (2026). The movie production budget climbed to $21 million. As of Jan. 25, 2026. The North American box office has reached $23 million. The world-wide box office has nabbed $30 million. A profit of $9 million.
It is no secret that movie studios drop films in the month of January - for one reason. They have no faith in it to make any money. "Primate" proved the studio wrong after preview audiences gave it a cinema-score of 93% (Rotten Tomatoes). The studio even recorded audience reactions in the theater. They used it as a promotional tool to get film-goers into theater seats.
Then - movie critics gave the film great reviews. They call it an old fashioned horror flick that scares you. It certainly scared me after seeing it in a theater at Albuquerque. I believe the reason is that there were no CGI effects. The chimpanzee (Ben) was a little-person actor dressed in a monkey suit. Money was also spent on the chimp make-up and it paid off. Ben looked so real and so scary as he went on his killing spree.
I predict that "Primate" will profit $15 million for Paramount. This has become a word-of-mouth picture. A lot of other horror/slasher movies drop considerably at the box office.
Check out "Primate" in a movie theater. You will not be disappointed.

DATELINE on NBC. Last night's episode was called, "Secrets in the Ashes" (1/23/2026). It was quite the ride in this segment. Last week's "Black Widow" was diabolical. This lady is almost as bad.... Did you watch it?
If you missed it. Below is an NBC preview plus a chat with Andrea Canning (The Today Show).
20/20 says, "A couple’s ultimate nightmare: a masked gunman kills a pregnant mom while she sleeps in her own bed."
20/20 on ABC. The special segment was called, "The Secret in the Suitcase." It aired a few years ago and I missed it. Melanie McGuire was convicted of killing her husband and dumping his body in the Chesapeake Bay. She cut up his remains and placed them in three separate suitcases.
"Secret" caught up with Melanie twelve years later while still serving a life sentence. She is eligible for parole in 2073. And.... She maintains her innocence.
There have been multiple news stories and TV specials on Melanie McGuire. Even a TV movie was produced on the killing of her husband. I thought the most revealing was the "48 Hours" segment called, "The McGuire Diaries." It focused mainly on the court trial and let Melanie record herself on camera. It showed her true self and how she felt leading up to that trial.
"Secret" shows us this criminologist who believes Melanie is innocent. The evidence is too strong against her though. This segment goes into great detail from the moment the dead body was found in that first suitcase.
In my opinion... Stop interviewing this woman. She's a sociopath like Scott Peterson or even Charles Manson. You can see the darkness in her eyes.
48 Hours says, "In May of 2004, Bill McGuire’s dismembered body was found in three suitcases in Chesapeake Bay. His wife, Melanie, was charged with murder but maintains her innocence. She agreed to share a behind-the-scenes video diary for - 48 Hours.
“48 Hours" Correspondent Maureen Maher reports.
Note: I remember this... Melanie was too much and so vain. She looked into that camera as if she was a special TV Mini-series. She loved the drama which she created. She's still in prison.
48 Hours says, "When Lita Sullivan opened her door to accept a gift of a dozen roses, she had no idea it would be the last thing she would ever do. The man with the flowers shot her dead. Her husband, millionaire Jim Sullivan, became the primary suspect. Her murder would remain unsolved for years until two unlikely witnesses finally stepped forward."
“48 Hours" Correspondent Susan Spencer reports.
Dateline says, "In the series finale, the story of the mysterious blood found outside the crime scene is at long last revealed. An additional Sutton report enters the picture, focused on someone unexpected. Long overlooked, another member of the Skakel household staff comes under scrutiny. Amanda Knox weighs in on her experience of being wrongfully convicted of murder. Andrew shares final revelations and reflections about the case."
SCREAM 7 from PARAMOUNT pictures (2026). The franchise continues and the movie hits theaters on Feb. 27, 2026.
The marketing campaign released a new movie poster that resembles, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

SAG-AFTRA.Reports of Casting Scams Targeting Performers....
SAG-AFTRA is aware of reports of individuals falsely claiming to be casting legitimate productions who are, in fact, attempting to scam performers."
SAG-AFTRA says, Please be aware of the following red flags....
PRIMATE from PARAMOUNT pictures (2026). The production budget climbed to $21 million. As of Sunday Jan. 18, 2026. It has grossed $19,621,000 (million) in North America. It has grabbed $23 (million) at the world-wide box office.
Movie studios always dump films in the month of January. Why? Because they believe the movie will not make any money.
"Primate" is different because of the preview audiences. They had given this slasher movie a 93 percent score at the "rotten tomatoes" website. Paramount listened and used their advertisement campaign with these preview audiences.
The story is simple. A pet chimpanzee (Ben) is bitten by another animal. Ben gets rabies and goes on a killing rampage. College kids are terrorized and killed.
What is great about "Primate." There is no CGI in this movie. A "little-person" actor is inside a monkey suit. That made it so real and scary. (I walked into a movie theater to see this).
After 10 days. "Primate" has broken "even" with its' production budget. Plus, it looks like this is a word-of-mouth-movie. (I actually told friends and family to see this).
Go and see this is a movie theater.

NBC.True Crime Weekly with Andrea Canning
48 Hours says, "On January 18, 1997, Beverly Watson disappeared and her husband, Jim, became a prime suspect in the case. There was virtually no evidence: no witness, no body, and no proof that Beverley was even dead. But police noticed that Jim was wearing makeup to conceal what appeared to be scratches on his face."
“48 Hours" Correspondent Harold Dow reports.

Were investigators too quick to dismiss her boyfriend as a potential suspect? A stunning admission from Tommy Skakel during his Sutton interviews is revealed."

PRIMATE from PARAMOUNT (2026). Well, the first horror flick of a Chimp-Gone-Bad is scaring movie audiences. It has received a 93% cinema score from the "Rotten Tomatoes" website.
Thursday night previews have racked up $1.4 million in ticket sales. The word from those who have seen it. "Primate" is a bloody-gore-fest.
The marketing campaign for this film is totally working. Audiences like to be scared even by a nice Chimp-Gone-Bonkers.
Below is a clip from the movie.
Dateline says, "In Ohio, police share security camera video of a person of interest in the shooting deaths of a dentist and his wife...."
"In Georgia, a widow accused of killing her husband stands trial for the third time...."

"Plus, an arson investigator on what tools he uses to solve a crime."
