Western 'Old Henry' is a gritty and violent homage to its' own genre

OLD HENRY from SHOUT STUDIOS. This independent western opened in select theaters this past weekend (10-1-2021). There are no box office numbers yet.... It will be released on Blu-Ray Nov. 9, 2021. You can pre-order your copy over at "Shout Factory."

"Old Henry" tells the story of Henry (Tom Blake Nelson) and his teen son Wyatt (Gavin Lewis) as farmers in 1906. Henry finds a wounded man with a bag of money. He didn't want to help this man - at first. When he does... It unleashes a load of past secrets that open up to violence, greed, murder and ugly truths.

Henry sees his peaceful life falling down in real time. He can't stop it as secrets are revealed by all of the men who visit his farm. Even his own secrets are unearthed. It all leads to brutal violence and death.

"Old Henry" is a homage to the westerns of yester-year. The law is miles away from every farmer. The only real law is a gun. Men are not who they "say" they are either. Tom Nelson fits right in too with his beat-up farmer hat. His Henry, is so quiet who is almost gentle. That is until he's forced to pick up a gun to protect his son. He becomes the man he used to be. (I will not give away his secret).

The big surprise here is country singer Trace Adkins. He portrays Henry's brother-in-law. It's a small but effective role that Adkins fits perfectly. This is the kind of part he should be given.

Western fans are gonna love this.... I did. Check it out at a movie theater near you.
