More details emerge from the gun shooting on Alec Baldwin film 'Rust'

A Press Conference was held by the sheriff's department at Santa Fe, New Mexico. 

The investigation continues after the fatal shooting on the "Rust" movie set. The District Attorney has not ruled out arresting whoever was responsible for mishandling the gun that killed cinematographer - Halyna Hutchins. Plus, injuring the movie's director - Joel Souza. 

Here is what we know....

  • The bullet that killed Halyna and injured Joel has been recovered.
  • Alec Baldwin handled a long "Colt .45" gun on-set.
  • Assistant director David Halls told investigators that he did not check all guns thoroughly.
  • A live bullet plus 500 blanks and dummy rounds were given to investigators.
  • The on-set armorer Hannah Reed-Gutierrez reportedly mishandled guns on another western with Nicolas Cage, "The Old Way."
  • The film's producers told cast and crew not to delete "text" messages as part of their own investigation.
  • There is no video of the fatal shooting.
  • There will also be no immediate arrests until the investigation is finished.
