Former MGM starlet Debbie Reynolds dies at age 84

Debbie Reynolds joined the MGM studios after two years at Warner Brothers. She was cast in the movie musical "Singin' in the Rain" (1952) and it made her a star. The film won the Best Picture Oscar and Reynolds said it was her favorite movie. She was only 19-years-old at the time, dancing alongside Gene Kelly and Donald O' Conner. She nabbed her only Oscar nomination as best actress for "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (1964). Her girl-next-door image of the 1950's was cemented with "Tammy and the Bachelor" (1957). Miss Reynolds died on Dec. 28, 2016 just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher had passed on Dec. 27.
