Mark Walhberg who played Bobby Lee Swagger in the 2007 movie, "Shooter" is serving as producer. The 10 episode TV series has Ryan Phillipe as Bobby Lee. It has been airing each Tuesday night on cable TV's USA network at 10/9 p.m. The movie was based on the best selling book, “Point of Impact” written by Stephen Hunter. The TV Series has changed Bobby Lee to a family man with a wife and daughter. The movie had him as a loner living with his dog in the mountains.
According to "TV by the numbers" that tracks all TV ratings. "Shooter" has garnered an average of 2.6 million TV viewers overall. It has reached 970,000 TV viewers in the all important 18-49 adult demographic. The series has aired only 5 episodes and USA has renewed it for a 2nd TV season. It was supposed to premiere last July, but was pushed forward because of real life mass shootings. The crime and chase drama has become a hit.
