Netflix 'Who Took Johnny?' is a documentary mystery still unsolved

WHO TOOK JOHNNY on NETFLIX. I had this on my play list and had finally gotten around to watching it. I usually watch murder and mystery, but I've been intrigued lately by missing person cases.

West Des Moines, Iowa (1982). Johnny Gosch was just 12-years-old who on a Sunday morning was delivering newspapers. His dad usually went with him, but not this time. Johnny was abducted and has never been seen since. His mother Noreen spent 30 years looking for him and believes him to still be alive. There is no evidence of a crime and his body has never been found if he was killed.

Two years later in the same neighborhood (1984). Another teen boy was abducted while delivering newspapers. He was also never seen again. This opened doors of possible pedophilia and human trafficking in the city. Johnny's parents later received a dollar bill that said, "I'm still alive - Johnny Gosch" written on it. Did their son write it and was he being held against his will?

What's troubling about this case is law enforcement. The local police and the FBI just didn't do enough to find Johnny. Throughout the rest of the 1980's in West Des Moines. More kids were abducted and/or had gone missing. Some are even found murdered. What actually happened to Johnny? Is he still alive or was he killed? (Check this out if you can. It is quite compelling.).
