Dear Roscoe (SAG-AFTRA member),
(SAG-AFTRA photo 2022.).
"It's been a little while, and I just wanted to touch base with all of you and let you know that despite our current limitations on having in-person meetings and events, your New Mexico Local Board is still active and working on your behalf! We currently have representatives on the New Mexico Federation of Labor Executive Board and the Governor’s Council on Film and Media Industries, and we regularly engage with the New Mexico Film Office, IATSE Local 480, Teamsters Local 492 and other film, labor and media groups to ensure that your needs and interests are addressed."
"Our industry moves at a very fast pace, and it doesn't matter if you are in the City of Angels or the Land of Enchantment. Our goal is to keep our members informed and in the loop. The website and the SAG-AFTRA member mobile app are two tools that our members can use 24/7. If you don't already have the app, it’s easy to download to any smartphone."
"We try our best to keep it current, do updates as they happen and, of course, list upcoming events, legislative activity and local-specific industry news. The union is still in resource-conservation mode due to COVID, but as the numbers continue to decrease, we are getting closer to having in-person events, something I know our board and members have missed. Zoom will never top mingling and connecting in person."
"As New Mexico Local members know, we are getting busier and busier each year. Our union knows that having a safe workplace is critical. Did you know we have a SAG-AFTRA set relations rep that visits our sets roughly every other week. This set rep checks in on all aspects of set life so our members can focus on doing their job."
"We have a lot of exciting projects and opportunities coming our way, so buckle up and get ready for our busiest year to date!"
See you on set.
Marc Comstock
