Naomi & Wynonna Judd were an enormously successful Country Music Duo (1984-1991). They were chosen in 2021 to be inducted into the "Country Music Hall of Fame."
Naomi was a practicing nurse back in 1983. She and her daughter Wynonna were also living in Nashville, Tennessee. They were trying to land a record deal. An RCA executive had a family member being cared for by Naomi. The mother and daughter auditioned for RCA executives who were impressed by their vocal harmonies. They were signed to a record deal as "The Judds."
Naomi Judd passes away on April 30, 2022. She was 76.

AMBULANCE distributed by UNIVERSAL PICTURES. This is directed by Michael Bay and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Eiza González. It opened in movie theaters on Friday April 8, 2022. The foreign box office has already totalled $19 million. The production budget climbed to $40 million.
I went into an IMAX theater to watch this and had a great time. I bought my big gulp drink and a bucket of buttered popcorn.... It was non-stop action for at least 2-hours.
Do me a big favor and don't watch any reviews of the film on You-Tube. Good Grief - Why watch someone criticize it for 30 minutes or more?
I saw the movie trailer for IMAX and decided right then to watch it inside a movie theater. I didn't want to be influenced by some long-winded critic.

DRESSED TO KILL from FILMWAYS PICTURES (1980). It was directed by Brian De Palma and stars Angie Dickinson, Michael Caine and Nancy Allen. The production budget climbed to $6.5 million. It grabbed $31.9 million at the U.S. box office and was considered a hit.
Angie Dickinson claimed that she was hesitant at first to play Kate Miller. She just came off of the successful TV series, "Police Woman" (1974-78). Millions of Americans knew her as Sgt. "Pepper" Anderson. She was also afraid to do the full body nude scenes in the film. The director hired a body-double who was a Penthouse (nude) magazine "Pet" of the month. Dickinson relented because she also wanted to portray Kate who is so different from herself.
"Dressed to Kill" tells the story of a house-wife named Kate Miller. She's sexually frustrated because her husband is "boring" in the bedroom. In a night dream - she is raped by a strange man in front of her husband - in the shower.
Then one day... She flirts with a male stranger at an art museum. Without knowing his name. She gets into a taxi-cab with him. The man gives her what she had always fantasized about. Her screams of pleasure are explosive.
What Kate doesn't know is that she is being followed by a mysterious woman.
I won't give anything away.... Brian De Palma is influenced by Alfred Hitchcok. He copies Hitchcock's camera-style and suspense in this movie. It also involves a brutal murder.
The film received the "X-Rating" by the MPAA. De Palma trimmed off the full frontal of Kate Miller in the shower to get an "R-Rating." The Director's cut adds it back in.

DATELINE on NBC. The episode is called, "The Trouble on the Hill" from June 8, 2009. Keith Morrison reports.... I've been listening to classic episodes through podcasts. This segment struck me because the actual gunshots and possible killings were heard on a 911 call. NBC edited that graphic phone call for prime-time television.
A couple and their neighbor are all accomplished in their chosen professions. All had settled in a quiet mountain side at California. The couple and the elderly male seemed to get along fine. They would only spend seasonal months at these homes. Sometimes - 6 months at a time.
Then, one day.... The elderly male fixed a bridge they all use. He wanted to split the bill payment, but the couple refused. A judge ordered them to pay up. The seed of anger, hatred and fear began.
I won't give anything away.... That 911 call and those gunshots are harrowing to listen to. It didn't have to go that far - but it did.

It's been five days since the "Slap" heard around the world on Oscar night (3/27/22). If you have been living under a rock. Will Smith walked on stage during a live telecast and physically "slapped" Chris Rock. It was after a joke Chris made that was aimed at Will's wife - Jada Pinkett Smith.
