DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD is reporting that actor & SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard has died. He was 71-years-old. I believe he is the only SAG President to reach out to Native American actors inside SAG-AFTRA. He wanted to at least acknowledge change with the Hollywood Native American stereotypes. He also attended our Native SAG meetings.
I remember his work as an actor on Television. He was of course "The White Shadow" as a high school basketball coach. He appeared in the popular 1983 TV mini-series, "The Thorn Birds" & was on the 1980's prime-time soap "Dynasty" as Diahann Carroll's former lover. One of his last roles was in the 2007 film, "Michael Clayton" with George Clooney.
