Hollywood to remake Korea's excellent 2009 thriller "Secret"

SECRET on HULU. The 2009 cop thriller nabbed 6 million at the Korean box office. It has been streaming online over at "Hulu" & I hear it was a hit over at "Netlfix." Variety Magazine announced in 2014 that Peter O’Brien will write the screenplay for New Line Cinema. There has been no further announcements in the press on the project & it is now 2016.

Here is the synopsis, "Sung-Ryeol  is a detective in charge of violent crimes. He is having an affair with his colleague’s wife, and it is the reason he loses his own daughter in a car accident. Wracked with guilt but unable to explain to his wife, Ji-Yeon what happened on that day. Sung-Ryeol finds trace evidence that hints at his wife while investigating a murder scene. He presumes that his wife is connected to the case, and does all he can to keep her from being identified as a suspect."

It looks like a standard cop drama until 1/3 of the way in with the first twist & it is a doozy! It keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. It kept me guessing & still keeps me guessing. I watched this again & no wonder Hollywood wants to remake it. What a great cop thriller/mystery.
